City Line Deli & Grocery Introduce
Welcome to the vibrant and bustling world of New York City delis! For locals, these aren’t just places to grab a quick bite; they are cornerstones of the community. They are where you get your morning coffee, a late-night snack, or the essential grocery item you forgot on your list. In the heart of the Bronx, City Line Deli & Grocery embodies this quintessential New York spirit. This local spot has become a go-to for many, providing convenience and a personal touch that can be hard to find in a city of millions. Whether you're a long-time resident or new to the area, understanding what this establishment offers can make your day-to-day life just a little bit easier. It's more than a store; it’s a reliable part of the neighborhood fabric, a place where the staff knows their regulars and the doors are always open.
The deli is a hybrid, a true New York bodega experience that combines a short-order kitchen with a stocked grocery section. It's the kind of place where you can order a custom-made sandwich while picking up milk and a bag of chips. The convenience of having everything in one place, especially at any time of day or night, is a major benefit for anyone in the city. The atmosphere is that of a classic neighborhood spot—unpretentious and focused on getting you what you need quickly and with a smile. The reviews from locals highlight this friendly and accommodating service, even noting that the staff goes out of their way to be pleasant. This warm, local feel is a key part of the experience, distinguishing it from larger, more impersonal grocery chains.
However, a few things are worth noting for new visitors. Some patrons have pointed out that pricing can seem inconsistent, with the final bill sometimes including unexpected additions. While the staff is noted as friendly and apologetic about any "mistakes," it's wise to be mindful of prices. It's a small detail, but one that savvy shoppers should be aware of. Additionally, while the deli is a hub for fresh food, some have mentioned that certain packaged grocery items might be older. The fresh-made items, like sandwiches and heroes, are where the deli truly shines, and focusing on these will likely lead to the best experience. Ultimately, the deli offers a great balance of convenience, fresh food, and friendly service, making it a valuable resource for the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The price’s always change. You are never charged the same price for the same things twice. If you buy multiple items there’s always 2-3 dollars added onto the final price sometimes 5 dollars. Many times I had to ask what the price was for every item and after doing this the price changes for certain items or the guy behind the counter goes “oh sorry I made a mistake” It took me a few visits to realize that I was being over charged. Shopping here is like buying something in Times Square. Plus many items are old and outdated.
July 02 · Michael LopezGreat hero's. Just ask the person behind the counter what you want on your sandwich and how you want your sandwich prepared and that's what you will receive. This is a local deli which is very convenient because it is o poo en twenty four hours and has many groceries you might need in a crunch. The guys who work here are very friendly . The prices are a little inflated but not as bad as Manhattan.
August 20 · d marI got a drink here the price the guy told me was $2.50. When I checked my Apple Pay after I was charge $3.12. Even with the highest NYC tax it should only be $2.72. I don’t care about losing a few cents, it’s the principle. If you tell people a price, charge them that.
October 05 · Mia BritoThey don't have close by competition, it's a small crocery store, usually attended by one person, who also prepares orders on the grill, so you may need to wait to pay. Don't try to make friendly conversation with the person behind the counter, they tend to be dry and unfriendly. Best to be in and out.
October 10 · Juan AbreuThe old short man who works in the mornings is very rude and miserable. He always has an attitude or a face as if he doesn’t want to be bothered. He always says no whenever you ask him a question about the store and the items they sell, terrible customer service. I recommend everyone to go to the store on mcclean ave or the gas station very nice workers.
