★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Started with the Desi Poutine which was soooooo good. I mean it was literally tikka sauce with fries like of course it’s gonna be good. They give you so much of the tikka sauce too it was great. Although I wouldve hoped for more of the paneer topping throughout. The Saag Paneer was fine. A lot more chili forward than I expected but it was still good and flavorful. Rice was fine too.I was disappointed with the naan though. It was small and a bit tough, and honestly looked like the frozen naan you get in grocery stores. I know the chef says everything is made fresh in house but this naan did not taste that way.I usually pass on lassi because it only ever is offered in mango and I don’t really care for mango lassi, but they had a strawberry lassi here which I was thrilled to see! It was pretty tasty, perfect amount of cardamom and was really thick!
August 09 · Patrick ZajacAbsolutely loved the food at Desi Galli! Everything we tried was full of flavor and had that perfect desi street-style twist. The chaat dhokla was soft and tangy with chutneys that blended beautifully. The chilli idlis had the perfect Indo-Chinese kick—spicy, crispy, and addictive. But the Desi Poutine stole the show—hot fries topped with house-special podi masala, it was a flavor bomb in every bite! The paneer biryani reminded me of Mumbai’s street-style biryani—comforting, spicy, and delicious. If you’re craving Indian street food in NYC, this place is a must-try. Great vibes and even better food!
July 17 · ShivaniWe stopped in for a quick bite before a concert performance nearby. The staff was lovely and accommodating. The food was tasty and fresh. The mango lassi was on the small side for the price, but it was very tasty. We were hoping to eat outside, but there seem to be a mosquito situation so we moved inside, still a few mosquitoes in there.
September 23 · ESB NYCThe food were soooo good. The 2 Vada Pav served and tasted like vegan sliders. The kathi roll may be smaller compare to a regular burrito but its just the right size so you can order other scrumptious options. The mango lassi I wished it was bigger tho cuz its so good and thick.Highly recommended for some quick and easy no frill Indian food craving fix.Outdoor seatings available.
September 26 · Jean NgThe fries were hot and very nice with the masala on top. The Palak patte ki chaat was really good!!! Aloo paneer Kathi roll was okay - it was bland and spicy.
