Dinnerly Introduce
In a city that moves at the speed of light, finding a balance between a busy schedule and preparing healthy, delicious meals at home can feel like a constant struggle. This is where a service like Dinnerly comes into play, offering a solution that's designed for convenience and affordability. As a meal delivery kit, Dinnerly provides everything you need to cook a complete meal without the hassle of grocery shopping and extensive meal planning. The core of their business model is simplicity: each recipe uses only a few ingredients and has easy-to-follow instructions, making it a perfect fit for both seasoned home cooks and beginners alike.
Dinnerly has positioned itself as the most affordable meal kit on the market, a huge plus for New Yorkers who are always looking for ways to manage their budget without sacrificing quality. Their focus on minimal ingredients and digital recipe cards helps keep costs down, a benefit that is passed directly on to the customer. This approach allows them to offer a wide variety of recipes each week, catering to different tastes and dietary needs, while keeping their prices significantly lower than many competitors. For anyone in NYC tired of takeout and expensive groceries, Dinnerly presents a compelling alternative for getting wholesome food on the table.
As a meal delivery service, Dinnerly doesn't operate like a traditional brick-and-mortar restaurant that you visit. Its physical address at 519 8th Ave, 19th floor, New York, NY 10018, serves as its corporate office rather than a customer-facing location. The company's service is entirely accessible through its website and mobile app, which is how New York users will interact with the brand. This digital-first approach means you can manage your meal plan, choose your recipes, and schedule deliveries from the comfort of your home or on the go, making it incredibly convenient for the city's fast-paced lifestyle.
Dinnerly's business model is built around a robust delivery network that serves the contiguous United States, with a fulfillment center in New Jersey that likely serves the New York region. This allows them to deliver fresh ingredients directly to your doorstep. The service offers various delivery days and times, which can be checked by entering your specific New York zip code during the sign-up process. While there's no in-person accessibility for the general public at the corporate address, the company's commitment to delivery ensures that the service itself is highly accessible to anyone in their service area.
Meal Kit Delivery: Dinnerly's primary service is delivering weekly meal kits to your home. Each box contains pre-portioned ingredients and a digital recipe card, simplifying the cooking process and reducing food waste.
Customizable Meal Plans: Customers can select from a flexible subscription plan that allows them to choose a box size for either two or four people and select a number of meals per week, typically ranging from two to six.
Wide Recipe Variety: Each week, Dinnerly offers a rotating menu with a large number of recipes, including options that are vegetarian, low-calorie, low-carb, and "picky-eater approved," ensuring there's something for everyone in the household.
Marketplace Add-Ons: Beyond the standard meal kits, Dinnerly also offers a "Market" section where you can add extra items to your weekly box, such as ready-to-heat meals, desserts, and breakfast items, providing even more convenience.
Flexible Subscription Management: The service is designed with a flexible subscription model. Users can easily skip weeks, pause their account, or cancel at any time through their online account, giving them full control over their deliveries.
Takeout and Onsite Services: While Dinnerly is a delivery service by nature, the provided information lists "Takeout" as a service option. It is important to note that this does not refer to a traditional storefront. It may be a feature that allows customers to pick up their boxes from a designated location, though this is not a common practice for meal kit companies and may be a service that is not widely available. For all intents and purposes, Dinnerly operates as a delivery-only service for the vast majority of its customers.
Affordability: Dinnerly is known for being one of the most cost-effective meal kit services available, with meals starting at a very low price per serving. This makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious New Yorkers.
Simplified Recipes: The recipes are intentionally simple, using fewer ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions. This makes meal prep less intimidating and quicker, which is perfect for busy weeknights.
Convenience: By handling the meal planning and grocery shopping, Dinnerly saves customers a significant amount of time. Ingredients are pre-portioned, so there's no need to measure or worry about leftovers, reducing food waste.
Nutritious and Delicious Meals: According to a customer review, the meals are praised for being both nutritious and delicious. The company aims to provide fresh ingredients that result in flavorful home-cooked dinners.
Digital-First Approach: The use of digital recipe cards instead of printed ones is a hallmark of Dinnerly's cost-saving strategy. This also has the added benefit of being more environmentally friendly.
Flexible Payments: The service accepts debit cards, making it easy to pay for your weekly deliveries.

For a New Yorker, the decision to choose a meal delivery service often comes down to practicality. Is it affordable? Does it save me time? Will the food actually be good? Dinnerly makes a strong case on all three fronts. Its standout feature is undoubtedly its affordability. In a city where every dollar counts, getting a home-cooked meal for a price that competes with or even beats a standard grocery run is a game-changer. This low cost is achieved without compromising on the freshness of the ingredients, a fact that is consistently noted by satisfied customers.
Beyond the price, the convenience is a major draw. The simplified recipes mean that even on your most hectic weeknight, you can have a delicious, fresh meal ready in a fraction of the time it would take to plan, shop for, and cook a more complicated dish. The pre-portioned ingredients eliminate guesswork and food waste, which is not only environmentally friendly but also helps you stick to a budget. For those who find grocery shopping in the city to be a chore, having everything you need delivered to your door is an unparalleled luxury.
While some customer experiences, as seen in reviews, may highlight occasional issues with delivery and customer support, the company's automated systems are designed to resolve problems efficiently. The flexibility of the subscription model is a huge selling point, giving New Yorkers the freedom to use the service only when it fits their schedule, whether it's every week or just on particularly busy months. Ultimately, Dinnerly is a worth-it choice for the New Yorker who is looking for a no-fuss, affordable, and convenient way to eat well at home without the stress and high cost of traditional meal prep. It’s a tool for better living in a city that demands a lot from its residents.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our nutritionist said she knows we are eating right when we say we are eating DinnerlyDinnerly meals are the best! Nutritious, delicious, fresh, easy, instructions included and almost everything is provided. You can choose your own meals.. so glad my daughter and son in law introduced me to these great meals.
July 26 · Mary HibbardI have been using Dinnerly for YEARS with no issues, or very mild ones up to this point anyway. However, last week my box arrived 4 days late. All of the ice packs were melted, the food had moisture inside the packaging, it was all warm, and I discovered that it was all rotten after opening one up.I contacted support, but never got a reply. I opened a 2nd ticket for it, selecting that it was a delivery issue. Well, AI handled that problem, because the tracking never updated, so it automatically credited me the cost of the box. Well, I’m not thrilled that there was no human support at all, but glad there was a resolution. Now, bring us to this week. My box arrived late again, but just by 1 day, roughly 30-34 hours late! Not only was it late again, but I ordered 6 of my favorite meal, and there was only 1 in there. Yes, I was missing 5 entire meals! I’ve opened 4 support tickets, well as emailed them regarding the issue. So far, it’s been over 24 hours, the only thing I’ve received are the automated emails, no humans are aware of my issue, to my knowledge. AI did not refund me this time, I’d imagine for 1 of 2 reasons, but possibly both! 🤷🏻♂️Reason 1: 34 hours isn’t late enough for them to consider it to be late, according to their automated system. 🤔 🤷🏻♂️ I have no idea, just a thought. 💭Reason 2: The fact that I just got a full refund, maybe it triggered further review of it, to be sure I’m not trying to take advantage of them. Well, after several years of using their services, I’m beyond disappointed with how they’re handling this. It’s been over 24 hours since I put in 4 tickets, yet they have NOT reached out. Also, due to my last box being all wrong, I took pics & a vid of me getting into the box & going through it all. I wanted to cover my bases & I uploaded every pic & sent it in to them! The pics even included some damaged packaging too! I would’ve sent the video too, but there was no option for that. I have it still, in case there’s a way for me to send it to them! Oh yeah, there were random lemons & seasoning packets in there too, of which, none had anything to do with what I had ordered! They seriously need to get better QC & customer support asap! They’ve left a loyal customer of several years (me) shopping around for a different service to use instead. This is beyond frustrating. I was checking my email to see if they got back to me, to which they did not get back to me about my issue, but they did send me an email about leaving a review, so it was a perfect little reminder to leave a negative review that’s honest & what I’m having to deal with right now, regarding Dinnerly!DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
September 15 · George “Owen”We have used this service for 3 weeks. Packages don't arrive on time. This one was due on Saturday and we got it two days late. Everything in the box is warm. The ice packs are completely thawed and everything is wet. I stuck my finger through the zucchini when pulling the box out. Flies flew out of the box when I opened it and now my kitchen stinks. Grateful today is garbage day so I won't have to worry about it stinking up my can outside. We have only gotten one package that was usable.
June 30 · Ĺinda EatonI love the variety of menus and seasonings I wouldn't be able to create on my own. I haven't been disappointed in the quality of the dinners. I like that they are relatively easy to prepare. I also like the amount of food provided. My husband and I are active 70 year olds and are average eaters. The reason I'm not giving Dinnerly 5 stars is because the produce often fails to survive the trip. We've had more than 1 cucumber mushy, 3 roma tomatoes unusable, 2 potatoes black in the center and one bag of mushy spinach. It's worth it to us to be preventative and purchase such produce at the store in advance.
July 29 · Mindy BaxterThis is my fourth week using Dinnerly and my family absolutely loves the meals. I love the diversity of the recipes available. I'm excited to cook the meals each week. I haven't had to add very many additional seasonings. Overall, the ingredients are wonderful together. The only additions I've made was adding a little Italian seasoning to the Italian dishes or using chicken broth when recipes called for water being added. Customer service was wonderful when they accommodated my wishes to having my deliveries scheduled for Sundays when the app wouldn't allow me to. I'm also happy with the price thus far as the Dinnerly cost for meals each week is comparable to my usual expenditures for groceries at my local grocery store (and in many cases the Dinnerly totals less).
