This popular establishment has firmly rooted itself in the heart of Fort Lee’s bustling culinary scene, bringing a distinct flair to the classic egg sandwich concept. While the business is classified as a 'Bakery,' EGG LAB Fort Lee is much more than your traditional bread shop; it is a dedicated breakfast and brunch haven, particularly known for its embrace of the wildly popular and flavorful Korean Street Toast.
EGG LAB Fort Lee provides a vital, quick, and high-quality stop for those on the go in New Jersey, perfect for grabbing a handcrafted sandwich and a cup of coffee before heading to work or during a weekend outing. The menu is a delightful fusion of familiar comfort foods and exciting international flavors, ensuring there is a memorable option for every palate. Whether you're a long-time resident of Fort Lee or just passing through the area, stopping by EGG LAB Fort Lee promises a fresh, hot, and satisfying start to your day.
The menu's star attraction is undeniably the Korean Street Toast, a savory and slightly sweet sandwich that has captured the attention of New Jersey food lovers. This is not just a standard egg and cheese sandwich; it’s an experience. The traditional Korean version of this beloved street food typically involves a perfectly toasted, buttery slice of bread layered with a fluffy egg patty, vegetables like shredded cabbage or carrots, and a unique, tangy-sweet sauce. The Fort Lee spot has adapted and perfected this formula, offering multiple variations that cater to local tastes while maintaining authentic Korean flavors.
EGG LAB Fort Lee has undergone an evolution, transitioning its core product from a previous "fluffy egg" style sandwich to the celebrated Korean Street Toast, a change noted by loyal customers. This new direction has brought a different yet equally exciting taste profile to the foreground. One customer highlighted the new recipe as being "sweet with a slight tangy flavor" and appreciated the addition of fresh vegetables, which elevates the dish beyond a simple breakfast item. Options like the Bacon Egg Toast and Ham Egg Toast are available on a choice of toast, including a sweet French toast option that customers have raved about. The combination of sweet bread with savory fillings like bacon, egg, and cheese is what makes this toasted delight truly stand out among other breakfast choices in the area.
While the transition has sparked conversation among regulars, the overall reception to the Korean Street Toast has been overwhelmingly positive, showcasing the kitchen’s ability to innovate and deliver on flavor. For those who miss the previous sauces, a spicy mayo is often recommended by customers for a personalized, flavorful kick, proving that EGG LAB Fort Lee is committed to customer satisfaction, even as their menu evolves.
Beyond the signature toast, EGG LAB Fort Lee also shares a space and menu elements with other popular Korean street food concepts, adding to its appeal. For instance, the menu includes items associated with Jongro Rice Hotdogs, which offers a variety of savory, deep-fried snacks. This variety confirms EGG LAB Fort Lee's position as a dynamic, modern Korean-inspired cafe that appeals to those seeking authentic international street food right here in New Jersey.
The commitment to fresh, quick, and flavorful food makes EGG LAB Fort Lee a must-try for any New Jersey resident. It’s an essential part of the local Fort Lee dining landscape, offering a unique product that can’t be easily found elsewhere and providing a welcoming environment for a swift and satisfying meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I've been coming here every Sunday for the Egg Lab Sandwich with my wife and dog. But recently they changed their sandwich to Korean Street Toast. (Photo menu attached.)We were skeptical at first, but we gave it a try. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with the French toast option. My wife got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with regular toast. The wait was a bit longer than usual—a new menu product, so it is understandable. But let me tell you, the sandwich did not disappoint! I liked the fact that it had vegetables (there were none before), and the French toast had the right amount of sweetness. It wasn't overwhelming, like the white sauce they had with the Egg Lab. My wife even told me she wanted the French toast next time. The new toast definitely has a different taste—sweet with a slight tangy flavor. The previous sauces are still available at the counter; I definitely recommend adding some spicy mayo for spicy lovers!I forgot to take a picture of the new toast because it went straight to my stomach, but I will post one next time!
May 15 · Simon ChengThey changed from the fluffy eggs to Korean street toast. The fluffy eggs were 100x better. I hope they go back to the old style sandwiches. That sandwich was the highlight of this place but it's gone now.
September 14 · James KimI haven’t been in Egg Lab for quite sometime, so I was excited to get some this morning around 9:18am. I usually get the Egg and Avocado Sandwich, a delicious Korean Egg Sandwich, but they don’t seem to have it anymore?I ordered 2 for to go the what they now call “All The Way toast”. In doordash, the description says avocado toast, but I didn’t get it at all. All it had was the Bacon and Ham which is not what I preferred. I would just be okay taking it since I only found out while eating it at home. But sadly, there’s a big amount of egg crust that we crunched while having it. So I felt a need to post it. Otherwise the service and place is okay and I didn’t get a text when the order was supposed to be ready. Wasn’t that the purpose of placing your number in the kiosk when ordering? Would still give it a try as I still believe in my previous experience with the store before. Thank you.
August 03 · Victor Hernandez JrThey left a whole wax paper in the sandwich and I ate it. I wish they would be more careful
June 07 · John ParkEND OF AN ERA !! Goodbye to the beloved fluffy egg sandwich on garlic bread 😭They suddenly swapped out their original egg sandwiches for a more traditional korean street toast. Which is amazing on it’s own, i loved it when I was in Korea too. However the original fluffy egg sandwich on the garlic bread + the sauce was the best thing ever. It would have been fantastic if they kept both sandiwch options.Unfortunately this marks the end of my regular visits for the OG egg sandwich. It was fun while it lasted 😔🙏
