December 29 · Parijat RoyI love their sauces and rotisserie chicken at this place very tasty and juicy. Their salad is made of romaine lettuce not iceberg which is a plus to me and their dressing tastes wonderful. I always go out of my way to go here 😂.The green sauce is perfect it’s not too spicy and too bland. The prices on their menu is affordable if I’m gonna compare it to other Peruvian food places. I’m glad I stumbled upon this joint. Some of the other Peru restaurants I go to change prices go up every time. When I order over the phone they’ll tell me 20mins but when I get there it’s not done sometimes I wait 45-60mins.At El Festejo I start ordering when I’m on the highway and the lady will tell me 10-15mins and she’s very accurate! I like those accuracy because they’re man of their words unlike others who say 20mins and it’s never done on time lol.
February 04 · Sheba GeminiThis would be our first time trying Peruvian. The place is small but delivered very highly on flavor. We ordered the lomo saltado and the arroz con mariscos. Both dishes were super flavorful. Lomo saltado was the best of the two. If in the neighborhood and don’t care for the ambience, I highly recommend this place for adventurous eaters!
April 27 · Jonathan MoraisToday is (July 28) the celebration of Peru's Independence from Spain. I called every single Peruvian restaurant in Port Chester (and there's one on every corner it seems) in search of these delicious sweet potato and squash donuts. I finally came upon El Festejo. Clearer a traditional, mom and pop restaurant BUT! that's what gems are made of. Our PICARONES we're fresh to order - very crispy on the outside and so soft and spongy on the inside. The CHANCACA honey was amazing - you can taste the fig leaves...I mean this was as traditional as it gets. So freaking good! THANK YOU FESTEJO!
July 28 · J FMy favorite Peruvian restaurant. The service is amazing and the food even better. The bread the give to start the meal is crusty but soft inside. Their green sauce is the best. I know it is lettuce and cilantro based with chili. But I swear that there is evaporated milk to make it creamy and sweet.I always order the Sudado de Mariscos. This is mixed seafoods with tomatoes and chilis. This is served with yucca and rice. If I feel carnivorous I order the Lomo Saltado which I ask to be served rare and with fried eggs.I have tried all of their ceviches and have never been disappointed. Their Tallarines pasta is also yummy. They also serve the ubiquitous Pollo a la Brasa. I have a quarter chicken with lots of their green sauce and rice. Enjoy this with diet Inca soda and you are in heaven. When you visit look for Rosie. She is an asset to this establishment. She knows the whole menu and recommends their best dishes always.
