★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As a business owner who hustles as a delivery driver, I deliver all over NYC — Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn — and I’ve eaten at Caribbean spots in every borough.Let me be honest: Harlem has the lowest quality Caribbean food in the city, and somehow still comes with Brooklyn-level attitude.Today I just wanted to try a different soup, so I asked a few simple questions — trying to figure out what was in each one. I wasn’t being difficult. I wasn’t holding up the line. But somehow, I still got hit with more attitude than flavor.Latoya’s Kitchen is probably the only place in Harlem I can say competes with the restaurants in Brooklyn or 225th in the Bronx. Everything else? It’s falling short — in both taste and service.Today reminded me why I stick with what works. This ain’t it.
September 08 · Rashaad KareemTasty food and excellent customer service. The oxtail falls off the bone and it is flavorful with the right amount of spiciness. The jerk chicken wings are flavorful and juicy. I wanted to give this spot a 4 star rating because the place is a little dark and would benefit from a renovation, but the food is too good for me to care.
February 15 · Céline A.Some of the best Jamaican goat, rice and peas in NYC. It's so good I leave Queens to go to Manhattan to get it. Their lunch special is also amazing!
October 15 · JJ JonesThe food is gross. I ordered curry chicken over rice expecting a decent meal .I got a neck bone smothered in day old thick , with what seems to be mashed potatoe gravy. ..it's just my luck to absolutely hate mash potatoe gravy so this place is a no for me.The food in the photo is the amount going in the trash .my animals won't eat it, neither would i.
January 15 · PAY-O MATTEOThis is another of one of the best Golden Krust locations in the city. Not only do they always have the breakfast items available (including the liver, which is succulent) but the vibe in here is unmatched, as many places in Harlem are. When I do stop in I come for the conversation as much as the food. All of the staff do their best to make it a comfortable experience for everyone who come in, and make sure that they leave satisfied, which they more than succeed at.
