I wish I came to Haenyeo earlier on because I’d hands down say this is the best restaurant in Park Slope. The vibe inside, the staff, and the food are up to standard with some of the best restaurants in the city. Some standouts are their kimchi and bulgogi but I really didn’t have anything that was below average. I 100% will be back soon, hopefully when people are in town so we can show them some delicious food. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area (or even outside the area and are reading this). - Andrew Dabydeen

Located in the heart of Park Slope, this restaurant has quickly become a local favorite, celebrated for its high-quality food, cozy atmosphere, and exceptional service. The name "Haenyeo," which refers to the legendary female divers of Jeju Island, Korea, hints at the restaurant’s deep respect for fresh, authentic ingredients and traditional culinary practices, while its execution is decidedly contemporary and elegant.

Haenyeo is more than just a place to eat; it's a dining experience that is both intimate and sophisticated. The space, though not large, is thoughtfully designed to create a cozy and romantic ambiance. The décor is minimal and stylish, allowing the food and the company to take center stage. Diners consistently rave about the high standard of the food, with standout dishes like the Bulgogi and the Kimchi Bokum Bop earning high praise. The restaurant’s commitment to quality extends to every aspect of the meal, from the fresh, seasoned kimchi served with entrées to the expertly crafted cocktails and wine list. Haenyeo truly elevates Korean dining, placing it in the same league as some of the city’s best restaurants.
