Hamburger America Introduce
In a city where culinary trends come and go, some restaurants find success by celebrating a timeless classic. Hamburger America, located in the vibrant SoHo neighborhood, is a prime example of this. This establishment is more than just a place to grab a burger; it's a nostalgic trip back in time, styled in a "1950 era" aesthetic that creates a fun and memorable dining experience. Specializing in the simple yet perfect smash burger, this spot has quickly become a go-to for locals and a destination for tourists seeking a taste of classic American comfort food. It's a place where the aroma of cooked meat can "magically" draw you in, promising a satisfying meal from the moment you arrive.
Hamburger America's identity is deeply rooted in its focus on the smash burger. This cooking technique, where a ball of ground beef is smashed onto a hot griddle, creates a crispy, caramelized crust and locks in the juicy flavor. As one customer noted, the burgers were so good that "each bite oozed flavor." This commitment to a specific style of burger is a major reason for its popularity. While some tastes may vary, as one reviewer mentioned their personal preference for Shake Shack, the overall consensus is that the burgers are of high quality and flavor. The restaurant's ability to create such a delicious and classic burger while maintaining a casual and cozy atmosphere is a testament to its success. It's the kind of place that invites you to pull up a seat, relax, and enjoy a perfectly crafted meal without any pretense.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve been excited to try this place since it opened and pass by it often. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was fun, but I just didn’t love the burgers. I ordered a Fried Onion Burger and a Classic Smash Burger and they didn’t have a memorable flavor. I know taste is subjective and this place is very popular, so I’m not saying don’t try it. I’m a huge fan of Shake Shack and prefer the Shack Burger over these.
September 16 · M GLost looking for Hamburger America in SoHo? That’s what happened yesterday. Then the aroma of cooked meat wafted in the air and the restaurant magically appeared. Yesterday Jennifer and I came here to celebrate a birthday. Hamburger America has been open for two years and specializes in smash burgers. It’s styled in the 1950 era and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We took a booth in the back and perused the menu. Jen had the Monthly Burger Special from North Carolina which was a smashed burger with beef chili, onion and mustard on a toasted buttered bun. No cheese was her choice. I chose the Classic Smash Burger with the works and cheese. We shared the Shoestring Fries. I had the coffee milk which I didn’t care for. We both enjoyed our burgers immensely as each bite oozed flavor and ate every chip. The front area had counter seating and the back has tables and three booths. Two gender neutral clean and large restrooms are also here. I am already planning another meal or two here!
September 12 · Sabena SinghA must-visit for burger lovers — amazing flavors and top-notch hospitality. We had lunch today at Hamburger America, and it was an absolutely wonderful, mouth-watering experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Beckett, who truly set the tone for the meal. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and clearly passionate about the food and the guest experience — it really made us feel at home.We ordered the Onion Burger and the Classic Burger, and both were phenomenal. The patties were juicy and cooked to perfection, the buns were soft but held together nicely, and the flavors were incredibly balanced. The Onion Burger in particular was something special — rich, savory, and just the right touch of sweetness from the grilled onions. Every bite felt like comfort food done right. The space itself is clean, stylish, and has a laid-back vibe that makes it perfect for a casual meal without sacrificing quality. You can tell this place is built on passion for classic American burgers, and they really deliver on that promise. If you're in the area and craving a proper burger made with care, Hamburger America is 100% worth a stop. Great food, great people — we’ll definitely be coming back!
June 15 · Abo FaisalGreat place. It’s simple but don’t get me wrong, « simple » in a great way. Nothing fancy but that’s the charm of the place. The hamburger is tasty and mastered. Fries could use a bit more color but are still super crunchy like it should. Honestly, it’s worth it
August 06 · François LejeuneI really enjoyed my visit, I ordered a double onion burger and it was very good quality and delicious. Great atmosphere and it's fun to see the burgers getting cooked right in front of you while you wait. I will definitely be back!
