Villa Mosconi is more than just a place to eat; it's a piece of New York City's history. The restaurant was founded by the Mosconi family, who immigrated from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, bringing with them a rich culinary heritage. This legacy is evident in every dish, from the homemade pasta to the classic entrees. The decor, described by some as "old-school" and "historic," contributes to a charming and romantic atmosphere that is a deliberate counterpoint to the city’s modern, minimalist trends. It's the kind of place where framed photos adorn the walls and the staff treats you like family, creating a sense of community that is increasingly rare. This unique vibe makes it a favorite among those who appreciate a genuine and unpretentious dining experience.
The menu at Villa Mosconi is a comprehensive journey through classic Italian cuisine, with a focus on Northern Italian dishes. Diners can start with traditional appetizers like Artichoke Hearts Oreganata or Fried Calamari. The pasta section is a major highlight, featuring a variety of homemade options such as Lasagna and Spinach Fettuccine Alla Bolognese, alongside traditional selections with a range of sauces. Entrees include classics like Chicken Parmigiana, Veal Marsala, and an array of fish and meat dishes, ensuring there is a delicious option for every preference. The restaurant is also known for its incredible dessert and coffee selection, providing the perfect finish to any meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I hosted my birthday here and was very happy. For a 4 course meal it was $75/person. They had a lovely back patio with heaters for us (group of about 10). Highly recommend. All the food was delicious. Can’t go wrong with what you order.
May 21 · Nicholas JamesWe came here on a last-minute change of plans (re: hangry and desperate), otherwise I don't think I'd ever have willingly entered.Villa Mosconi is your tough, blue-collar Italian uncle in restaurant form. The interior is old, dingy and depressing. The furniture feels stuffy, the wall decor feels outdated--everything is just '80s Sopranos. Right down to the service--the one highlight--which was friendly in a gruff and tough kind of way.Unfortunately, the food wasn't impressive enough to make up for these other drawbacks. Our Stuffed Zucchini Flowers were still frozen inside (sigh). The Veal Ravioli Special was decent, but my Paglia e Fieno featured overcooked noodles in congealed sauce. Not my vibe, but there's a certain type of NYC clientele that love this kind of place. So to them I say, go forth and pasta.
July 31 · Josephine LeeI actually really enjoyed everything about this place. The food was good. The ambiance was great. The service was amazing as well. Price was decent. Thank you to our waiter, Kenny. He really made the experience better. Only thing I was was that the dishes were presented a little better but honestly it fits the place 😅
March 02 · Cla NYCThis is, hands down, the best Italian food I have eaten. We had a party of six and all tried a wide variety of foods from the menu - each being perfectly prepared. The drink selection was great, the wait staff fantastic and the ambience perfect. If I am ever back in New York, this is my go to location for dinner.
March 31 · JD McQueenI had an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me like family. My visit was for a birthday dinner on a Saturday, and we enjoyed a delightful family-style meal. The dishes seemed to never end, each one more delectable than the last. The timing was impeccable, as they skillfully transitioned us to desserts, as if it had been orchestrated from the start. The house-made Limoncello was a delightful finale that left a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend this place – it's a must-visit! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
