Izakaya NoMad Introduce
In the bustling NoMad neighborhood of New York City, where options for dining are endless, finding a place that combines authentic Japanese flavors with a laid-back gastropub vibe is a true delight. Izakaya NoMad is that rare find. An izakaya, a traditional Japanese gastropub, is a place where small plates and drinks are shared in a casual setting, and Izakaya NoMad perfectly embodies this spirit. It's a spot that serves as a culinary sanctuary, whether you're hopping in for a quick bite or settling in for a full meal with friends. With its cozy interior and a menu that’s both familiar and exciting, this restaurant offers a genuine taste of Japan right in the heart of Manhattan.
The menu at Izakaya NoMad is a celebration of classic Japanese izakaya fare, with a strong emphasis on their fantastic yakitori. The menu extends far beyond skewers, offering a wide array of small plates and larger dishes. The sashimi and sushi are praised for their freshness, and the rolls, with names like "Godzilla" and "Astroboy," are both creative and delicious. The "Nomad Dishes" are another highlight, featuring unique offerings like Okonomiyaki and Buta Tofu Kimchi. Whether you're in the mood for light tempura, a fresh salad, or a hearty hot pot, the menu provides a rich and varied culinary journey that caters to all tastes.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Me and my friends went to a nearby restaurant and the food (appetizers) wasn’t good, so we left without order entrees. We hopped in to this joint on the same block and thankfully, also glad that they had a table available for us.Good vibe, friendly staffs and good Yakitori. We couldn’t be happier after the 1st place. We didn’t order much here since we ate a little before, but would definitely come back for a full meal experience.Thank you Izakaya Nomad for saving our night :)
July 04 · GrAcIE WI came here for dinner with friends and we all enjoyed it! The interior of the restaurant is cozy and we got a booth seating. Service was fairly quick, and staff was friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes: the cucumbers, kaisendons (the mini and uni ones), the squid, the chicken and meat assortments, chicken karaage, and okonomiyaki. Everything was delicious. My friends loved their cucumbers and mini kaisendon, while I loved their squid and uni kaisendon. The skewers were delicious and juicy, and I highly recommend trying their assortments. Definitely one of my favorite izakayas in the city, so far.
August 04 · Mia HuynhMy partner asked me what I wanted for dinner on Friday night, and I was craving Japanese food. This spot came to mind right away, I remembered they had a lot of great options and the food was always solid. But this time, I was a bit disappointed. Why? Because they’ve cut down the menu a lot, and many of the dishes I used to love are no longer available. I get it times are tough and it seems like they’re in survival mode with the economy the way it is.That said, the food is still good, but I’m not sure if I’ll come back. Still debating with myself on that one.
May 30 · Matt JitwichotFood was so good. Different meats to try. Purple sweet potato fries is different. Delicious. Gotta get your beers before 7pm and get the happy hour deal. Loved my time here. Would come again for sure. Love the overall vibe of this place.
July 17 · Julian CardonaService was great, girl that took care of us was friendly and helpful with our order. The food great for the type of cuisine. I definitely recommend.
