Crepes Haven Introduce
Located on East 96th Street, Crepes Haven is a small, casual shop that brings a world of sweet indulgence to the Upper East Side. While it identifies as an ice cream shop, its menu extends far beyond, specializing in an array of crepes, waffles, mini pancakes, and over-the-top "crazy shakes." For dessert lovers in the neighborhood, this spot offers a convenient and accessible way to satisfy a sweet tooth. The menu is packed with sugary, decadent options that cater to a wide range of tastes, from classic combinations to more unique creations.
The concept of Crepes Haven is simple: to provide a quick and delightful dessert experience. The shop is designed for a quick visit, whether you're grabbing a crepe on the go or a shake to cool down on a hot day. Its appeal is in its focus on popular and indulgent flavor combinations like Nutella, Oreo, and Reese's, which are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults. It's the kind of place you might duck into for a solo treat after a long day or with a small group of friends for a sugary pick-me-up.
Crepes Haven is situated at 141 E 96th St, New York, NY 10128, placing it on the Upper East Side between Lexington and Park Avenues. This location is easily accessible by public transportation, including nearby subway and bus stops, making it a convenient stop for locals.
The shop itself is described as a small space, "just big enough for 2-3 people to stand inside" with no seating. This layout reinforces its identity as a takeout-focused establishment, perfect for a quick stop rather than a leisurely sit-down experience. For those looking for a dessert to enjoy on a stroll through the neighborhood, the location is ideal. The emphasis here is on the grab-and-go convenience, catering to a fast-paced urban lifestyle.
The primary service at Crepes Haven is focused on quick and efficient takeout.
- Takeout: The shop is designed for customers to order and take their items to go. This is the main service model.
- Quick Visit: The atmosphere and layout are best suited for a quick visit, perfect for people who are in a hurry but still want to enjoy a sweet treat.
It is important for customers to be aware of the service limitations, as some reviews note that with only one person working and with items made-to-order, wait times can be extensive if there are other customers ahead of you.
While a small operation, Crepes Haven's highlights are centered around its menu and casual atmosphere.
- Extensive Sweet Menu: The shop offers a wide variety of crepes, waffles, mini pancakes, and "crazy shakes." The menu features popular combinations like Oreo Lovers and S'more crepes, as well as more unique options like the Pistachio Lover and Dubai specialties.
- Acai Bowls: A healthier option is also available, with a selection of acai bowls. One review noted that the acai bowl menu is the same as the "Nature Valley Market next door," where service may be faster.
- 'Crazy Shakes': The "crazy shakes" are a main attraction, known for being over-the-top and sugar-filled, with flavors like The Ferrero Shake and the New Yorker Shake.
- Variety of Treats: The menu extends beyond crepes and shakes to include chocolate-dipped sticks (e.g., banana, strawberry, marshmallow), waffles, and mini pancakes, providing a diverse range of dessert choices.
- Casual and Kid-Friendly: The atmosphere is casual, and the menu is good for kids, making it a viable option for a family outing or a treat for the little ones.
These highlights demonstrate the shop's focus on providing a wide variety of sugary options for a quick, indulgent moment.
Choosing Crepes Haven is a commitment to a specific type of dessert experience. The primary reason to visit is for the sweet and decadent items on the menu. If you are looking for a crepe or an indulgent shake, this is a place that offers a vast selection of flavor combinations. The menu is creative and leans heavily into popular dessert trends and flavors, so if you are a fan of treats like Lotus Biscoff, Nutella, or Ferrero Rocher, you will find something you love here. The "crazy shakes" in particular are a standout feature for those looking for an Instagram-worthy, sugar-packed beverage.
It is worth noting, based on customer feedback, that this is a spot best visited when there is no line, as service can be "EXTREMELY SLOW." The made-to-order nature of the items means that a long wait can be expected. This is a place for a quick visit for a truly sugary treat, but not for a leisurely outing. For those who live or work nearby and have a powerful craving for something sweet, Crepes Haven provides a convenient solution.

Crepes Haven Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Big mistake coming here, should’ve read the other reviews. WAY overcooked crepes smothered in fake sugary “sauces” and both filled AND topped with outrageous amounts of candy. I thought “2 Reese’s pieces” was a strange thing on the menu (pb lovers crepe), but now I understand that to mean 2+ king sized packs of Reese’s pieces. Made it a few bites before feeling sick. Never again. Also, there were two burners turned on and he made one crepe at a time. Took 30 mins to make 2 disgusting crepes and a scoop of bad ice cream.
August 23 · Jeff RhodesWas excited for a new neighborhood crepes spot and really wanted to try this place but service was EXTREMELY SLOW. They had one guy working - three girls ahead of us ordering one shake each and after 30 minutes we were still waiting and had to leave. Maybe go if you don’t see anyone in line, but if there’s anyone ahead of you, be prepared for a lengthy wait. Note there’s no seating inside - just big enough for 2-3 people to stand inside. Also note, the açaí bowl menu is the EXACT same as Nature Valley Market next door where you’ll get faster service.
May 02 · Jessica L. RollénI am definitely not planning to come back here. My friend and I ordered ice cream here, and we wanted to get a double scoop for $6 instead of $4 for the single scoop each; we clearly ordered a double scoop in a cup, and we repeated the order twice, but the server proceeded to give us each a single scoop and charged us $9. At that point, we couldn’t correct him because he had already scooped the ice cream; we were essentially swindled into paying more. After begrudgingly paying extra, we went to grab spoons, but found them all to be uncovered in a random box and with visible bits of dirt on them. It was disgusting and we had to find spoons elsewhere. When we tried the ice cream, it tasted like cheap buffet ice cream, which is expected since this place specializes in crepes and offers ice cream as for additional money grab. Overall, I would not recommend going to this place unless you are really craving a crepe—don’t order ice cream. Also, what kind of crepe has fruity pebbles cereal on it? I’m not sure, but that was one of their options…questionable.Furthermore, half the reviews on this page are short and seem like they were written by bots, so they’re probably paid reviews.
July 02 · Anchine LiuThe location is on 96th Street on the Upper East Side, right next to the 6 train station. If you're in the area, you must try the milkshake; there are a variety of flavors available for both kids and adults. It's an amazing treat filled with delightful goodies! This small business operates with just one person, but the wait is definitely worth it.initely worth it.
