Jikji Cafe Introduce
Jikji Cafe, situated within the bustling environment of John F. Kennedy International Airport, stands out as a restaurant designed to meet the unique needs of a fast-paced, international clientele. It operates as a casual, counter-service eatery, specializing in a surprisingly broad array of comfort food that includes popular dishes from both Korean/Asian and Italian cuisines. Located in the heart of Queens, this spot offers a welcome respite for travelers and airport staff, providing a warm meal when time is of the essence.
This establishment functions as a crucial pit stop, particularly popular for solo dining, and serves meals across all three main dining periods: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere is designed to be casual, accommodating the high flow of tourists and business travelers. It’s an essential part of the airport's food court offerings, known for its ability to deliver a quick bite while still offering the satisfying warmth of comfort food, ranging from a steamy bowl of Bibimbap to a classic plate of Chicken Parmesan.
Jikji Cafe is strategically located within one of New York City's primary international gateways, making it an essential amenity for millions of people passing through the area annually. Its exact placement is within the pre- or post-security dining area of a major terminal, providing high convenience.
The specific location is:
JFK Terminal 1, Terminal Dr, Queens, NY 11430, USA
As part of an active international airport, accessibility is paramount. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, ensuring ease of entry for all customers. Its central location within JFK Terminal 1 means it is easily found by travelers after checking in or immediately upon arrival in the U.S. As an airport concession, it is generally open during extended hours to accommodate early flights and late arrivals, though precise daily hours should be confirmed with the terminal directory.
Jikji Cafe provides a streamlined service model focused on efficiency, a crucial factor in an airport setting. The main services and offerings include:
- Dine-in Service: A casual setting where guests can relax and enjoy their meal before or after a flight.
- Takeout Service: All menu items are available for quick, efficient takeout for those in a rush.

Choosing Jikji Cafe is a decision rooted in convenience and culinary flexibility within the restricted environment of a major New York airport. What is most worth choosing is the opportunity to secure a warm, substantial meal quickly, regardless of the time of day, from a menu that spans multiple continents.
For those craving Asian cuisine before a long journey, the presence of genuine Korean dishes like the protein-rich Bibimbap ($18.00) and the popular savory Bulgogi ($18.00) is a major draw. These are often difficult to find at non-specialty airport restaurants. Similarly, the availability of Italian standards, such as the hearty Italian Style Meatballs With Penne Marinara ($18.00), offers a reliable choice for less adventurous palates or for families with diverse tastes. The cafe also provides excellent quick starts, like the Seaweed Salad ($8.00), Eamed Dumplings, and Kimchi ($3.00) as a side, allowing for a light yet authentic flavor experience.
It is important for customers to set realistic expectations, as Jikji Cafe is a high-volume, quick-service counter in an airport and not a formal, sit-down dining establishment. However, for the busy New Yorker or traveler in Queens who values speed, accessibility, and a menu that guarantees a diverse and comforting selection of pasta, Korean bowls, and fresh coffee, Jikji Cafe remains a practical and satisfying choice right at their terminal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I ordered the Kimchi soup with rice for $18. The old lady was not kind, the kimchi soup was terrible. No flavor at all. Don’t recommend. The airport should not have this kind of restaurant . Horrible 👎👎👎
July 01 · Yanhong Na사장님(?)께서 손님의 말에 좀더 친절히 대해주셨으면 좋겠습니다. 메뉴에 대해 묻는게 손님의 잘못은 아닙니다.Doing business with Korean signs and menus at a big U.S. airport is a great way to attract customers from all over—Koreans visiting from back home, Koreans who live here, and other international travelers. But with that, I believe there's a responsibility to uphold. Please be mindful of how you treat customers so that your business doesn't give our country, Korea, a bad name. As a Korean living in the U.S., I was so excited to see your place, but my experience today was a letdown. I'm leaving this review because I'm really bummed that my initial excitement turned into disappointment.
August 01 · Cjay JungWe came here after a long day of travel and airline delays. They kindly accepted our Delta vouchers. Our expectations were honestly low, but we were excited for warm food late at night. The variety available was great for our family. Much to our surprise everything was delicious! The shrimp tempura was just right. The spaghetti and meatballs were a hit. The food servings were even decently sized for the price. We will definitely be swinging by here again when we are at JFK.
March 11 · S.M. TannerBad customer service.Really hate giving bad reviews but this experience has me upset.I ordered a cappuccino and was about to order a ramyun but realized it’s pack soup duh, so I said don’t bother I’ll just have the “shrimp dumplings.” My boy charged me $18 for a udon soup. I was confused about the cost so when I checked back my receipt I saw the udon. Upon telling him that’s not what I ordered he continued arguing with me for a good while and continued telling me I said tempura udon. Bruh I mean honestly I know what I said but worse yet what’s arguing with a customer going to help you… cause you really had me mad at this point and I’m naturally a very patient person. Finally got my microwave dumplings and refund but ehhhh. Not me again
May 21 · TanzbandzWorst Korean food ever. The waitress was an old lady who pretended not to hear us (remember: deserve no tips, just eye rolls) Overpriced airport scam - they only survive here because real Koreatown restaurants would destroy them (Maybe hhh) Never again
