When visiting Joey Bats Cafe, the choice is simple but delightful. The menu is concise, focusing on the star of the show: the **Pastéis de Nata**. For a first-time visitor or a purist, the **TRADITIONAL Pastéis De Nata** is the definitive choice. This classic version perfectly showcases the flaky crust and rich, creamy filling that the cafe is known for. It's the standard by which all other Portuguese custard tarts are judged.
For those looking to explore different flavor profiles, the **Passion Fruit Pastéis De Nata** and the **Apple Cinnamon Pastéis De Nata** are excellent choices. The passion fruit tart adds a tangy, tropical twist to the creamy custard, creating a unique and refreshing flavor combination. The apple cinnamon version, on the other hand, provides a warm, comforting, and familiar taste that is perfect with a cup of their coffee.
A single tart is a perfect snack, but a **6-Pack Sleeve** is a great option if you want to share with others or save some for later. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I ate a tiny tart with passion fruit that was both creamy with a flaky tender crust. $4 well spent. I could have eaten another one. These Portuguese tarts appear at the Christmas markets and it’s nice to have them here to savor throughout the year.
February 22 · Sabena SinghThe pastéis are delicious, but the customer service was very disappointing. It was my first time ordering, and when I said “regular,” I assumed that meant plain. The woman behind the counter began adding cinnamon, so I politely asked if she could put it on only three of the six I was buying. She sighed loudly in frustration, threw all six pastries away, and with a very annoyed tone said, “This is why I asked you what you wanted.” I explained it was my first time, but she still made me feel as if I had done something wrong. It’s a shame because the pastries themselves are excellent, but the lack of kindness and patience from the staff really overshadowed the experience. Good products should be matched with good customer service.
August 27 · Melina SantosJoey Bats is that spot🫶🏼home of the flakiest, most buttery croissant brûlées you’ll ever taste! The blueberry one? Next level. And the sweet soul behind the counter made the experience even better. A true gem for pastry lovers! 🫐✨🥐
