★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1John’s of 12th Street, a classic old-school “red sauce joint” serving up Italian-American cuisine since 1908, is still a gem - and - they now have an additional full vegan menu, so there’s something for everyone. We shared an arugula salad to start. She had the vegan ravioli; I had the eggplant parm (non-vegan).Everything was delicious + the service is great too.
May 22 · Francine LauraWent here for the start of a walking tour. A really interesting place with plenty of history and stories related to it.We got to try the spaghetti as part of our visit as well, which was nice.Would love to come back again one day and have a proper sit down evening meal.
April 21 · Paul WarrenMy dinner in this famous Italian restaurant was part of the New York Mafia Tour by retired NYPD officer. The place has mafia stories, and the interior walls are covered with pictures of countless good, bad, and nasty celebrities. The story of the place goes back more than a century and is still operated by the descendants of the original owners.Even if you aren't participating as a tourist in a group, I recommend stopping by and enjoying a great, delicious, traditional homemade Italian meal.
July 26 · Berge WassilianWow. This place is cozy and comfortable. The food is absolutely delicious. There was not a single dish that we did not enjoy. You cannot go wrong with their classic spaghetti and meatballs or ragu. Somehow so simple yet one of the best Italian meals that I have had in a while. Will definitely be coming back soon! Now for my standard comments. Location is kept clean and indoor seating is fine.
May 09 · Christine LNice Italian food. Great ambience. Team NYC feel and vibe. The real deal. Gluten-friendly options. The bread was just OK and should be improved to meet the expectations of a genuine establishment. Prices are good considering large portion sizes.
