Kabab King Introduce
For discerning New Yorkers, especially those in the vibrant cultural hub of Jackson Heights, Queens, Kabab King stands as a well-known institution in the realm of authentic South Asian cuisine. While the name immediately brings to mind expertly grilled meats, this establishment is far more than a simple "Barbecue restaurant." Kabab King is an expansive culinary destination, proudly wearing the hats of a Halal restaurant, a Bangladeshi restaurant, an Indian restaurant, a Pakistani restaurant, and even a "Diner," providing a vast and authentic menu that serves the entire New York community.
The true focus here is the intricate, flavorful world of South Asian barbecue—specifically, the rich tradition of kebabs, tikka, and tandoori specials characteristic of the border regions of Pakistan and India. Customers frequently praise the signature dishes, where meats are marinated in traditional spices and cooked to perfection, often to order, giving the food a distinct, smoky, and tender quality. Beyond the grilled meats, the menu boasts a formidable array of traditional "Comfort food" staples, including rich, slow-cooked meat curries like Nihari and Haleem, fragrant Biryanis and Pulaos, and an extensive selection of flavorful vegetarian curries such as Palak Paneer and Lahori Channa.
Kabab King caters to virtually every meal period, being "Popular for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner." This accessibility, coupled with a menu that includes everything from an Aloo Paratha for breakfast to a Goat Karahi for dinner, makes it a reliable fixture in Queens. The atmosphere is described as "Casual" and "Trendy," attracting a diverse "Crowd" including "Family-friendly" groups, "Tourists," and the "LGBTQ+ friendly" community, all seeking a taste of authentic South Asian flavors. However, as is common with very popular, high-volume eateries, some customers have noted inconsistencies in food quality, service speed, and order accuracy, particularly during peak hours or for late-night delivery. Despite these occasional fluctuations, the overall consensus often circles back to the genuine, powerful flavor profiles that keep loyal patrons returning.
Location and Accessibility: A Queens Landmark
Kabab King is prominently located in the bustling Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, NY, at 73-01 37th Rd, 11372, USA. This area is celebrated across New York City for its unparalleled concentration of authentic international dining.
For commuters, the location offers excellent accessibility. It is conveniently situated near the Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights transit hub, which serves multiple subway lines (E, F, M, R, 7), making it an easy trip from nearly any part of New York City. In terms of in-house accessibility, the restaurant features a "Wheelchair accessible entrance," ensuring it is welcoming to all members of the community. For those driving, "Paid street parking" is available in the vicinity, though, as with all busy Queens neighborhoods, drivers should anticipate a competitive environment for spaces.

What is Worth Choosing at Kabab King
For the New York local, Kabab King is worth choosing for three primary reasons: authentic flavor, menu breadth, and all-day convenience.
Firstly, the core offerings—the grilled "Kabab king tandoori specials"—are a major draw. For a true barbecue experience in the South Asian style, the Chicken Tikka, Beef Bihari Kabab, or the Lamb Tikka Platter are highly recommended. These are the dishes that made the restaurant famous and are often cited as being cooked to a delicious, juicy perfection that stands out in the city. The commitment to Halal preparation further broadens its appeal and trust within the community.
Secondly, the immense menu offers a deep dive into South Asian culinary traditions beyond just the grill. Whether a diner is looking for a rich, comforting, slow-cooked curry like the Nihari or Haleem, a fragrant rice dish like the Goat Biryani, or a purely vegetarian meal with options like Palak Paneer, the menu has an authentic, high-quality offering. It’s an ideal spot for groups with diverse palates, ensuring everyone finds a satisfying option.
Finally, the sheer accessibility and extensive service model are unparalleled. The ability to grab an authentic "Quick bite" for a solo lunch, order "Late-night food" after a long shift, or sit down for a "Family-friendly" dinner in a "Casual" setting makes Kabab King a cornerstone of the Jackson Heights dining scene. While potential customers should be mindful of the occasional service issues reported during busy times, the quality of the signature grilled dishes and the vibrant, authentic atmosphere are the compelling reasons to choose this enduring Queens culinary landmark.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Well mannered Staff. Food was good.. Reasonable price...
August 12 · ABUSYED SIDDIQUEI just ordered takeout of goat pulao, and this is the third time I’ve had a bad experience with this place. They often sell stale food. I got home to Long Island around 1:46 AM, warmed up the food, and it was horrible. It smelled and tasted bad. I wish I could leave a negative review for this place. I will never be returning!
September 01 · ismath atherI know this place since the time it opened up more than 30 years ago and initially, visited couple of times. Lately, I was in the neighborhood with my family for Mother’s Day shopping and since there’re no more any good Halal Mughlai food eateries left in Jackson Heights now, I returned to it after almost 30 yrs but it’s a disappointment. They’ve a nice family hall and we ordered couple of food items but except two of them, Bihari Kebab and Nihari which’re okay not great, nothing else was good. The so-called Golla Kabab $10.99 for 2 pcs were nothing but burnt beef kabab. I come from Old Delhi and know the taste of Golla Kabab better than anybody else. The meat was stale, blend and tasted sour. Out of 2 pcs 1-1/2 pcs were left uneaten by a family of 5. The Karahi chicken $17.99 wasn’t Karahi taste at all but like a regular chicken curry with a punch of black pepper. The service and ambience is reasonable but the food taste and quantity sucked for the price of the food. It seems the place got extremely commercialized at the cost of it’s own goodwill.
July 30 · Syed AliKababjees has authentic Pakistani cuisine and is located in the heart of New York. The Restaurant offers a very wide range of food and specialized in Catering for large occasions.Management is very caring and actively involved in community affairs. The place needs refurbishment & needs to come.back strong with an appealing ambiance. March 16 · Zia QureshiWe have order chicken tandoori platter and there is pieces of beef in the rice and this rice looks like old and dry biryani which was left. Noodles are too oily and chicken samosa is like chicken puri the core is soft and not good at all. Worst experience!!
