What is Worth Choosing
For first-time visitors or seasoned patrons, the menu at Kashkar Cafe offers an array of compelling choices that perfectly represent the depth and flavor of Uyghur cuisine. The food is consistently praised by local reviewers as "life-affirming," and certain dishes have achieved near-legendary status among New York's food enthusiasts.
When deciding what to order, focusing on the restaurant’s specialties is highly recommended. The "Halal Kebabs" are a must-try. The Lamb and Lamb Ribs kebabs, in particular, are lauded for their immense flavor and succulence, often skewered on distinctive saber-like skewers. Another highly recommended dish is the "Bosu Lagman" ($15.99). This preparation of fried, hand-pulled noodles with lamb meat and vegetables is a textural masterpiece, with chewy noodles and a slight, desirable char. The "Polo" ($14.99), a lamb and carrot fried rice dish, is another staple of the region and a comforting, richly flavored choice.
For appetizers and soups, the dumplings and pastries are excellent entry points into the cuisine. Try the "Manty" ($11.99), which are savory lamb and onion dumplings, or the flaky, savory "Samsa" ($5.00), a baked pastry filled with spiced lamb and onions. If you prefer a soup, the "Lagman" ($11.99), a warming lamb broth with noodles and cut meat, is the ultimate comforting dish. To cut through the richness of the meat and spices, be sure to order one of the popular salads, such as the refreshing "Salad Achichuk" ($11.99) with fresh tomato and onion, or consider a pitcher of "Compote," a sweet and fruity juice often suggested by the friendly staff.
In summary, Kashkar Cafe is more than just a restaurant; it's a vital part of the New York food scene, offering a culturally authentic and incredibly delicious dining experience. The commitment to quality ingredients, traditional Halal preparation, and friendly service makes it a guaranteed satisfying choice for anyone in the New York area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Guys,If you are looking for really special delicious food made with love, come to this place. Small but unique place to taste special food from midle Asia.Very nice and polite service. From the first moment you feel like the special guest. That's all. Any additional words are unnecessary...
September 13 · Mark GinzburgThis place is SO good!!! My friends and I wanted to try Uyghur cuisine during a trip to Brighton Beach, and Kashkar did not disappoint. The restaurant is peaceful and charming, and our server was welcoming and delightful. There is a lot of choices on the menu, and all our dishes were delicious. Our favorites were the jujava dumplings, bosu laghman, and polo.
August 23 · Audrey RomjueAbsolutely delicious food! Loved the different Lagman noodles and the meat pie. Friendly service. Cozy restaurant very close to the Brighton Beach train station and beach boardwalk. Street parking is tough in the area. Definitely worth traveling to. Will be coming back again soon!
June 29 · Angela LamWe visited on a Friday evening and the place was packed by the time we left. We enjoyed the egg plant salad, the fried hand pulled noodles, and the kebab trio. A cozy spot when you’re in the mood for Xinjiang cuisine. The music playing was unique but went well with the flavors of the food.
April 25 · Andrew HazelriggHad seen an infatuation article about Kashkar; a friend moved around the corner so we decided to give it a try. I was happy to support local - the restaurant has a very family run feel - they do not rush, are very kind and friendly. But prepare to be at the restaurant for at least 1.5-2 hours.Food - highly recommend the noodles w / vegetables. Fresh, thick noodles. The samsa is also VERY hot on the inside - I badly burned the roof of my mouth on the minced meat inside of the samsa.Very affordable. Lots of food for $60.
April 20 · Kristina IThe lamb kebab was notably juicy and flavorful. The bosu lagman was good too, as I was would expect from a standard fried noodle dish. Funny enough, my favorite discovery was trying the Natakhtari pear carbonated soft drink.
