Khabar Ghar Introduce
For residents of New York City, particularly those in the diverse and culturally rich boroughs like Brooklyn, discovering an authentic local restaurant that truly captures the essence of a specific cuisine is a treasure. Khabar Ghar, situated in the Flatbush/Kensington neighborhood, is exactly that kind of establishment. While the name roughly translates to "Home Food," the restaurant is a recognized hub for traditional and authentic Bengali, Indian, and Pakistani cuisine, with a strong focus on the culinary traditions of Bangladesh.
This establishment has earned a loyal following among local users and is known for serving up delicious and rich flavors that are often described as tasting like "home." The menu is extensive, offering everything from savory tandoori and kebabs to rich, aromatic biryanis and seafood curries, all prepared according to Halal standards. It caters to a wide range of tastes, featuring popular South Asian staples alongside regional specialties that can be hard to find elsewhere in the city.
New York diners appreciate Khabar Ghar for its hearty portions and the genuine taste of its dishes. As is common with many locally owned ethnic eateries, the setup is often focused more on the quality of the food than on a fine dining atmosphere. While the food is consistently praised—as evidenced by the many positive reviews citing "very good food"—potential patrons are advised to always check current pricing, especially for combination plates or counter-served items, to ensure complete clarity before purchase, a helpful tip for all New York food adventures.
The culinary identity of Khabar Ghar offers a deep dive into the rich tapestry of flavors from the Indian subcontinent, with a distinct lean toward Bengali preparations. This includes an impressive variety of fish dishes and specific appetizers that are cornerstones of Bengali cooking, making it an essential visit for anyone seeking that particular regional taste right here in Brooklyn.

Khabar Ghar Reviews
I feel like a lady who works there overcharged me. I ordered 6 shrimp pieces, 3 scoops of different vegetables. It was all in one plate. With that I got porotha bread with a small lentil soup and a cup of tea. She charged me $20. Normally I pay $10-12 anywhere else for similar food. Ask the price first before you buy.
