There’s a lot of Italian food in Montclair, and La Couronne really holds its own in this space, the food is delicious. I also enjoyed the spinach with butter and sage raviolis, as well as the pasta with shrimp. The interior vibe of the restaurant isn’t as modern and trendy as some other restaurants but the food speaks for itself - this place is a Montclair staple, with over 20 years in Watchung Plaza. The service was great, and I’m really looking forward to going back and enjoying more on the menu. It was cool to see Yogi Berra’s picture on the wall right by his favorite table- he and his wife used to dine there often and called it “The best in the city!”. If it’s good enough for Yogi, it’s good enough for me!

The food portions were just right, as they don't have exaggerate to make that a gimmick. Although they don't serve wine, they knew a place nearby where we could purchase for our party. Overall, a wonderful experience.
July 18 · Rene MunozI went to this restaurant many, many times in the 2000s and 2010's. I always appreciated the selection, the specials and the quality of the food. Immediately after Covid, they hiked their prices by about 40%. I thought this might be temporary. I haven't returned much, but went the other night and prices have increased at least 60% since pre-Covid. The food was still good, though the sole francaise was fishy and uninteresting, and the shrimp arrabiata appetizer was soppy with too little sauce. But there simply is no defense for $12 soups, $12 sides, $14 sorbets. Overall, restaurants have lost the plot with pricing since Covid, disrespecting customers as a whole, but I really expected better from my local Italian restaurant.

Delicious food galore!
