Luna Cafe is worth choosing primarily because it offers a truly unique and diverse experience right in the cultural heart of The Bronx. Where most establishments commit to one identity—either a simple cafe or a formal restaurant—Luna Cafe successfully blends multiple roles. This fusion means you can start your day with a Turkish Coffee and a savory Burek, return for a hearty Penne alla vodka or a Luna's Brunch Burger for lunch, and finish the evening with a cocktail, all while potentially enjoying Live music. For New Yorkers looking for a central location near Arthur Avenue that provides more than just a quick meal, this is a strong contender.
The availability of authentic Traditional Albanian dishes is a major draw, offering a distinct cultural flavor that sets it apart from typical neighborhood eateries. Furthermore, the long operating hours—potentially extending until midnight—make it a reliable option for Late-night food and socializing, a necessary feature in NYC. Patrons who enjoy an energetic, social atmosphere and a vast menu that ranges from casual coffee to full-scale entrees will find Luna Cafe appealing. It is a one-stop location for diverse culinary needs, from a simple espresso to a celebratory dinner, confirming its status as a versatile and important local gathering spot. However, prospective visitors should be aware that, as with any busy, high-volume location, service experiences can sometimes be inconsistent, and it is wise to be mindful of payment policies and tipping practices as mentioned in local reviews. Despite these challenges, its core offerings of quality, unique food and a lively atmosphere make it a valuable choice for anyone in the Bronx.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had a deeply disappointing and uncomfortable visit to this café.When I asked a simple question—why I was being charged extra for paying in cash—I was met not only with rudeness but was also cussed out in Italian by the Cashier. The staff’s tone and attitude were completely unprofessional.I also want to highlight the questionable practice of charging extra for cash payments, which should be clearly disclosed if that’s their policy. They also did not bag my items, just left the plastic bag on the counter for me to bag it myself. If you're considering visiting, please do NOT, especially if you value respectful service and inclusive treatment.I rather stick with the good ole Narsico Bakeries on White Plains Road. They are a family owned bakery who sells baked goods for a reasonable price. The only downfall is that they close early.
June 07 · CalGarbage place. I should not have gone. Corny decor and furniture with bad (Albanian?) rap and R&B playing on the speakers, as if it's a nightclub. Inattentive staff who made no effort to help me out when I need it. I had to charge my laptop to work--it is a café with WiFi so one might expect a few outlets--but there wasn't a single place to plug in. Instead they brought a strange battery thing to my table which did not charge my computer. As I mentioned, they have WiFi, but the password they gave does not work. I had an extremely ordinary--really mediocre--iced coffee that was already overpriced. And now looking at the receipt, I realize that the server ADDED a 20% tip for the coffee and terrible service and did not even tell me. Really unpleasant experience. I feel insulted and robbed.
September 23 · Sam KimballWent for breakfast in the morning. Got nutella fruit waffles and avacado toast. It was amazing!! Still craving it later in the day! 5 stars!
August 19 · Camille PerroneWe came during Ramadan for Sudzuk pizza and some more food. The music was so loud, my head start hurting. Also the smoke was so bad, it’s impossible to breathe. The smoking and non smoking areas are not separated at all. My hair and clothes smelled so bad.The service seemed ok, except the girl who was waiting on us. She came to take drinks order when we didn’t even sit and take our jackets off. And when we said we are not ready and want to look at the menu, she didn’t show up next at least 15 min, talking to the hostess at the door. The food was good, so we got used to the loud music and smoke - starting to have good time. After dinner we wanted to order desserts, but our waitress never showed up again, nor could we call anyone else. So my bf just went to the computer where another waitress was standing to ask for the check and paid. And we left.
April 07 · Nina Brajdicdo not even bother giving them your money! The employees at this restaurant added a $25 charge to our card after we paid for and signed the check. after giving them a 4 star review I had to change it. THIS IS UNNACCEPTABLE. Times are tough for everyone right now and for us to give them business and they try to rip us off is insane. there was already a tip included in the bill, So for them to add more money is not cool at all!Outdoor seating available, three of us were greeted by a young lady with not much expression, she took our order and about 10-15 minutes later a gentleman named Joel (who was very nice) brought us a bread basket and some salads. That helped to hold our hunger until the entrees arrived about 30 mins later. The steak and salmon arrived first with no potatoes (as advertised) and 10 minutes later the penne arrived. When we asked the server about the potatoes he went back and asked the chef but the chef said that they ran out of potatoes. The rib eye steak was amazing, the broccoli was also good, it had a light flavor and nice crunch. The salmon was average could have used more flavor. The penne was also decent, the flavor on the chicken was pretty good. We also ordered a New York cheese cake that was average in flavor and an iced caramel macchiato that was good! Before arriving to Luna, I expected to have a bad experience because of the reviews but it wasn’t terrible!I would just suggest for the searing area to be cared for a bit more and a little more consistency when it comes to the menu offerings, if the menu states that the meal will be accompanied by potatoes and vegetables but there are none that should be communicated by the server and some sort of compensation or accommodation should be offered.Besides that the experience was decent, Joel was very nice and the food was pretty good.
