Unfortunately, my experience here didn’t meet my expectations. The customer service could—and should—be much better.I’m a huge How I Met Your Mother fan and was really excited to visit while I was in NYC from California. When I arrived, I was told to head upstairs, but it was completely empty. So I came back down to sit at the main bar. No one greeted me at first. Eventually, a guy behind the bar appeared. I smiled at him, expecting some kind of welcome, but all he said was, “Hi, can I see a menu, please?” Then he mentioned he worked upstairs and just walked away—without offering any help or asking someone else to assist me.Later, I used the restroom and returned to sit on the other side of the bar. This time, a female bartender gave me a QR code to view the menu. She was okay—not rude, but not especially warm or welcoming either.I ordered The Pineapple Incident (a sweet drink) and the three sliders with fries. The food was average and overpriced, in my opinion. She did offer me a complimentary drink after accidentally making the wrong one, but I chose to stick with what I ordered since I didn’t want to mix alcohol.Yes, there are posters and references to the show around the bar—but honestly, any place could put up pictures and quotes from the show and call it themed.My suggestion? Stop by, take a few photos, and then head elsewhere for food and drinks.

So we had to come here for HIMYM! We were happy with the food and very impressed with the service! My friend doesn’t like bitter drinks, our waiter could tell she didn’t like the first two she ordered. Don’t worry, we drank it for her haha! The server mentioned it to the bartender and they gave her a free drink! She ended up loving it! Our server was so funny and thoughtful! The food was good but the service and staff made our night even more fun!

If you're "How I Met Your Mother" fan, you've got to come here. The shows creators frequented this pub and drew inspiration while designing McLaren's.The pub has a few drinks inspired by the show. We ordered the pineapple incident and wait for it cocktails. Both were okay. For dinner, we ordered penne a la vodka, corned beef ruben, and old-fashioned chicken pot pie. The serving size is generous! The pie itself can easily be shared by 2 people.The vibe is fun! Our server was ever smiling and talking, and we had a good time with her.I had reserved a table for us on Yelp, but I think walk-ins are acceptable too.Do visit.

Great experience here at McGee’s. The food is quite good and hearty portions, so we came to eat here twice. The staff is very Gentle and the location has many references to the tv show How I Met Your Mother. Highly recommended!
