★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Ordered lunch from Mi Sueno Cafe. The beef empanada was flavorful, a little greasy and mostly just shell. There was about one tablespoon of ground beef in the entire empanada. It was good, I just wish it was more full. The chimi sandwhich had the flavors, but the consistency of the individual ingredients was off. The roll was so dense it felt more like a hero than a roll. The salad was too much, it took over the entire sandwhich. The onions were lost in the salad, you could see them but not taste them. They are suppose to be an individual component to add some acidity to the sandwhich, instead all you tasted was thousand island dressing. The beef patty was under seasoned and over done. Basically, all you taste is salad , all you feel like you’re eating is bread, with an after taste of ground beef. The monfongoitos were well made. I ordered them with chicharron which was also well made. I had to eat it separately because together it was too much. The chicharron was crispy and soft, very delicious. The monfongo cups were a little dry on the inside, but well made , they held the grease from the chicharron very well. The flan was not fresh, which normally is okay, but this flan had a little sour after taste. Overall, it’s not bad but I do not think I would order from here again.
January 25 · Anna CorreaTranslated from Spanish as my dream, Mi Sueno Cafe is a small eatery with a couple of seats but mostly takeout located off a busy Market Street in Saddle Brook. Parking can be an issue, depending on the time of day. Luckily, not today, as I found parking right in front. The menu specializes in Dominican cuisine but has other Spanish dishes ranging from empanadas to rabo guisado, tostones, and cakes. I decided on their lunch special consisting of chivo guisado (Dominican braised goat) with white rice, red beans, and a small salad for takeout. The food was still hot, and the goat flavor was amazing—earthy and intense with a kick and just plain old lip-smacking delicious. However, the rice and beans didn’t have any taste. If you are in the area, give this place a try.
June 30 · Eloy YipFinally came to check this place out after so many years of passing by. I’m upset i have been missing out. Definitely my new favorite spot to grab good
December 12 · Raisa BrownI ordered the Mangu with cheese, eggs and salami and this breakfast was great. 10/10 food. Definitely recommend!
June 24 · adriana perezThis place is a "hole-in-the-wall" (seating for about 10). The service from behind the counter was friendly and good (explaining thoroughly what each food was to this non-Spanish speaker). And the food was quite delicious (with generous portions). And a bargain (two meat/rice/bean entrees for $20). Some of the other customers that were there while I was were from the DR and all seemed like locals. I like this place!
