New York Fries Roosevelt Field Introduce
For Long Island residents and New York City area visitors seeking a satisfying fast-casual experience centered around high-quality potato perfection, New York Fries Roosevelt Field stands out in the bustling Dining District of Roosevelt Field Mall. This location is part of a significant re-entrance into the US market for a brand that actually got its start right here in New York City back in 1983. It offers much more than standard fast-food fare, specializing in fresh-cut fries and an array of indulgent toppings, including the classic Canadian delicacy—poutine.
The restaurant has established itself as a go-to spot for those craving comfort food elevated by a commitment to fresh preparation. The core of the menu revolves around hand-cut, skin-on Russet potatoes, which are prepared using a unique, three-stage cooking process in non-hydrogenated sunflower oil. This focus on process and ingredients sets a benchmark for its offerings, whether you are stopping in for a quick snack between shopping excursions or settling in for a full, satisfying meal complete with a loaded hot dog and a beverage.
Customer feedback often highlights the satisfying nature of the menu, particularly the generous portions and the ability to customize. While some visitors have noted that service times can sometimes be longer than expected, even during non-peak hours, many also attest that the quality and flavor—especially the loaded options—make the wait worthwhile. The visible, clean kitchen area provides an added layer of confidence in the food preparation process, assuring patrons that their food is truly made to order.
New York Fries Roosevelt Field is conveniently located within the Roosevelt Field Mall, a major shopping destination in Garden City, Long Island, New York. As a cornerstone of the mall's food court, known as the Dining District, it offers an accessible stop for shoppers, families, and local workers alike. The physical address is 630 Old Country Rd, Garden City, NY 11530.
The Roosevelt Field Mall's extensive infrastructure means the restaurant benefits from ample parking, easy access via major Long Island roadways (like the Meadowbrook and Northern State Parkways), and public transportation routes that service the mall. Being situated in a high-traffic retail environment makes it an easy pit stop for a quick, delicious meal while running errands or spending the day shopping. The operational hours generally align with the mall's schedule, typically running from 10 AM to 8 PM on most weekdays, extending to 9 PM on Friday and Saturday, and concluding earlier on Sunday at 7 PM. These consistent hours offer flexibility for dining at almost any time of day.
The services at New York Fries Roosevelt Field are focused on quick, quality, and satisfying counter service within the food court environment. Key services include:

- Catering to Hot Dog Cravings: Providing not only the core fry products but also a full line of premium all-beef grilled hot dogs.
New York Fries distinguishes itself from typical fast-food fry counters by focusing on ingredient quality and unique menu items that appeal to a broad New York and Long Island audience.
- Genuine Fresh-Cut Fries: Utilizing only high-quality Russet potatoes, cut fresh daily in the restaurant, and served with the skins on for maximum flavor and texture.

- Premium All-Beef Hot Dogs: Offering high-quality, all-beef hot dogs served in a soft Martin's potato roll, available plain or loaded with the same array of flavorful toppings as the fries.
- Visible Kitchen Cleanliness: The open nature of the food court location often allows customers to view the preparation area, highlighting the commitment to cleanliness and fresh, made-to-order food.
For the New York local looking for a hearty and memorable fast-casual meal, New York Fries Roosevelt Field offers a compelling case for a visit. The main draw is undoubtedly the core product: the fresh-cut fries. Unlike frozen alternatives, these potatoes have a naturally superior flavor and texture that truly hits the spot. When paired with one of the signature toppings, the experience transforms from a simple side order into a main event.
The Poutine, in particular, is a highlight and a must-try for those unfamiliar with the dish. The combination of hot, crispy fries, squeaky Wisconsin cheese curds, and savory beef gravy provides a unique and deeply satisfying comfort food experience rarely found with this level of authenticity in the area. For those who prefer a more classic American flavor profile, the Chili Cheese Fries or The Works (fries with beef chili, cheese sauce, sour cream, crumbled bacon and green onions) offer a robust, flavor-packed meal that fully justifies a trip to the mall's food court. One customer noted that the chili cheese combo meal was "one hell of a meal" and definitely "hit the spot" for a hot dog craving, emphasizing the generous and filling nature of the offerings.
Furthermore, the Loaded Hot Dogs are a significant differentiator. The premium all-beef dog can be customized with toppings like chili, bacon, and queso, turning a quick snack into a substantial meal. The ability to grab a combo with two drinks and a large side ensures that diners leave feeling full and satisfied.
While the reviews mention occasional slow service, this may be interpreted as a consequence of the 'made-to-order' commitment. The fries aren't pre-cooked and held under a heat lamp; they are fresh-cut and cooked when you order, which inherently takes slightly longer than standard quick-service models. For the local customer, understanding this distinction is key: a slight wait results in a product of markedly higher quality. If you prioritize maximum flavor and a fresh product over speed, New York Fries is absolutely worth choosing. The value and sheer decadence of a combo meal, particularly when catering to a strong craving for fries, chili, or a hot dog, are consistently praised by patrons. It’s an ideal stop for a lunchtime boost or an evening treat that won't leave you hungry.

New York Fries Roosevelt Field Reviews
New York Fries was… okay. The fries themselves were decent — hot and fresh enough — but nothing to rave about. I’ve had crispier, more flavorful fries elsewhere. What really stood out was the service, and not in the best way. There was no line when I went, but it still took longer than expected to get my order. The staff didn’t seem rushed, just not very attentive, which was frustrating considering it wasn’t busy.If you’re craving fries and happen to be nearby, it’ll do the job. But if you’re looking for fast service or the best fries around, this probably won’t be your new go-to spot.
September 14 · It’s Me PThe most American of the American joints, had the combo with a chili cheese and the works which came with two drinks and a large fries and it was one hell of a meal. it definitely hit the spot in terms of my hot dog crave and it was just unfinishable but in terms of a full satisfying fast food meal, yeah go for it for sure
July 20 · Michael ChengIt was my first time trying New York Fries today.Had the Hot Dog with mustard and sauerkraut, plus the fries. It was a busy summer Friday in a crowded mall at 1PM, and there was only one person working the counter. There was a second person in the back that showed up after I (and others) had a wait.I prefer my hot dogs well done, and the one that came out was pretty undercooked for my tastes. I asked if it was possible to get the well done dogs (some were sitting right there!) and he said "it wasn't possible". Really? Very disappointing response.Fries were nice and crispy which is why I gave two stars. Hot dog was large but skinless, and had the 'boiled' taste.Poor service, mediocre dog, good fries. Overall, not recommended.
August 02 · Gary GThe fries at this establishment are truly exceptional, offering a delightful experience with every bite. The golden, crispy exterior gives way to a soft, fluffy interior, creating a perfect texture. Furthermore, the staff demonstrates an exceptional level of attentiveness, ensuring a positive experience for all customers. The services provided are quite accommodating, always striving to meet individual preferences and needs. Overall, it's a fantastic place to enjoy delicious fries and outstanding service.
June 20 · Clover CaoI used to live in Toronto. This is literally known as the #1 poutine fast food chain in Canada. It has been around for almost 50 years. I guarantee you it's the best poutine you can get in the US. There are currently only 2 locations in the US. Long Island is lucky to have one.
