But on Madison Avenue, a true gem awaits those with celiac disease, gluten sensitivities, or anyone simply looking for delicious and healthy food. That gem is Noglu, a bakery and restaurant that has built its reputation on creating entirely gluten-free products that are so good, you won't even notice what's missing.
Noglu is more than just a place to eat; it's a haven. It’s a place where you can order anything on the menu with complete confidence, freeing you from the stress of cross-contamination. Their commitment to being 100% gluten-free means you can enjoy everything from pastries to quiches without a second thought. This dedication is a significant relief for New Yorkers who often have limited safe options for dining out. The bakery’s menu is a testament to the fact that gluten-free doesn’t have to mean flavor-free. It’s an inviting spot for a quick bite, a coffee break, or a leisurely solo meal, all within a casual and cozy atmosphere.
The name Noglu itself is a playful nod to its mission. Originating from a celebrated establishment in Paris, Noglu brings its European flair and culinary expertise to the heart of New York. The bakery has quickly become a popular spot, not just for locals but also for tourists visiting the city who are delighted to find a safe and delicious dining option. The friendly and trendy ambiance makes it a great place to stop by, whether you are picking up a quick snack or sitting down to enjoy a full meal. The focus on organic dishes and healthy options further adds to its appeal, catering to a health-conscious crowd.
Noglu is conveniently located at 1260 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10128, right in the heart of the Upper East Side. This prime location places it in a charming and bustling neighborhood, easily accessible by public transportation and a wonderful destination for a walk. The bakery is situated near Central Park and some of the city's most famous museums, making it an ideal stop during a day of sightseeing or a stroll through the park.
Getting to Noglu is straightforward for both residents and visitors. The 4, 5, and 6 subway lines have stops nearby, providing quick access from different parts of Manhattan. For those who prefer to drive, there is paid street parking available, though like much of New York City, it can be limited. The proximity to major avenues and bus lines also makes it highly accessible. While the specific accessibility features are not detailed, the business operates in a modern, commercial space, which often includes features for ease of access.
The bakery's location on a well-known, high-traffic street ensures it’s easy to find and a great meeting spot. Its presence on Madison Avenue makes it a noteworthy addition to the area's dining scene, offering a unique and specialized option that stands out. It also welcomes pets, with a policy allowing dogs outside, which is a great feature for local dog owners out for a walk.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Totally delicious and GLUTEN FREE!!Had the Spinach and Feta Quiche, and the Raspberry Cream Puff, both were so flavorful and delicious. The crust on the quiche was outstanding. Highly recommend the Hot Chocolate as well 😄
September 07 · Jillian HenthornAn expensive restaurant where food comes in plastic containers with disposable cutlery, and the coffee is far from good. Not even napkins available. For that level of service, the price feels way too high — it should be half. I asked for a bowl for my salad and they kindly gave me one, but overall the experience doesn’t match the cost. Definitely not worth returning.
August 23 · Andres ZarzaThis is a local café on the Upper East Side, yet its interior stands in stark contrast to its appearance from the street.Drawn in by the exterior alone, I found the service regrettably lacking in warmth. The tray on which my coffee and pastry were served was noticeably unclean, and the coffee itself had a rather sharp acidity, which may not suit all palates. There is little to distinguish this spot as a destination worth seeking out. However, given the limited number of cafés in the area beyond the ubiquitous Starbucks, it may serve as a convenient stop on a pleasant day — particularly if one chooses to sit outdoors.
April 17 · Louise LouiseWe were walking back down to midtown after meeting friends on 103rd street. We noticed this bakery cafe on the corner and went in. It was quite busy but we found a nice inside table. We ordered an Americano coffee and a blueberry scone. Coffee was excellent but the scone was missing something. Later we discovered this is a no gluten establishment.Still service was excellent and the place has a very nice vibe. The problem is the price of the items. Way too much. Maybe because it is gluten free.BTW, the single bathroom is very small and old but clean.
April 26 · THE EXPLORERThe atmosphere is very cozy. The servers are super friendly and speak Spanish. The treats are all GF and delicious. The croissant is the closest thing to the real thing. Now for the price it should be the same size as the real thing.
