A significant highlight of Paprika is its commitment to serving Glatt Kosher cuisine, under the rigorous supervision of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens (VHQ). This dedication ensures a high standard of quality and compliance, making it an essential and reliable culinary option for the local Jewish community and anyone who seeks high-quality, meticulously prepared meat and parve dishes. The generous portions, often noted during the popular lunch special, ensure that guests leave fully satisfied.
The menu at Paprika is extensive and showcases a magnificent array of the best Levantine and North African flavors, with many dishes leveraging the restaurant’s beautiful brick oven (taboon) to produce stunning flatbreads and rustic tagines. The culinary journey begins with a selection of appetizers and dips designed for sharing, and moves seamlessly into hearty, flavorful main courses.
Key items that showcase the restaurant’s distinct flavor profile include:
- Majnuna ($29.00): A unique starter featuring pulled brisket wrapped in a soft mufleta (a thin flatbread crepe), topped with caramelized onions, harissa aioli, and pine nuts. This North African-inspired dish is a must-try.
- Eggplant Carpaccio ($22.00): A vegan-friendly and gluten-free appetizer, prepared with silan (date syrup), pistachios, tahini, jalapenos, and olive oil, demonstrating the menu's lighter, yet complex, side.
- Pargiyot ($44.00): Za'atar-seasoned boneless chicken thighs, a popular Israeli preparation, served over warm mashwiya (roasted vegetables).
- Lamb Tanzia Tagine ($52.00): Tender, boneless lamb medallions cooked with onion and sweet apricot, a classic Moroccan cooking method, elegantly served over fluffy couscous. This dish is noted for its rich, authentic flavor.
- Shuk (2-3 People) ($145.00): A grand platter—ideal for groups—featuring a combination of beef steak, pargiyot, kufte kebab, shawarma, and marguez, served with two generous sides.
- Shawarma ($42.00): Baby chicken shawarma, often praised for its freshness and topped with arugula, cabbage, and a spicy schug sauce.
- Desserts: Traditional sweets like Malabi (homemade milk pudding), Sfing (Moroccan donuts), and Chocolate Babka provide a delightful conclusion to the meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. The music was lovely although it wasn’t anything I was familiar with. Tastefully decorated. Excellent service. The staff was very friendly and prompt. I appreciated the bottle of water left at the table for refills. Loved the digital menu as I always order from photos. Food was delicious!!!! I ordered the shawarma with couscous. I especially liked the green spicy sauce on top. I had them give me an extra little bowl of it. I ordered the lunch special. The portions are huge!
April 29 · Bethany PreeceFabulous dinner - fresh authentic Israeli food. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Everything was delicious! Noise level was high due to the music being rather loud but they turned it down when we asked.
