Prima Brooklyn Introduce
Prima Brooklyn is a beloved establishment nestled in the heart of Brooklyn's vibrant Clinton Hill neighborhood. It's more than just a cafe; it's a versatile space that seamlessly transitions from a daytime coffee shop to a cozy evening wine bar. This women-owned business has become a popular hub for locals, college students, and tourists alike, drawing them in with its warm ambiance and diverse offerings.
The dual identity of Prima Brooklyn is one of its most compelling features. During the day, it's a bustling cafe, known for its selection of great coffee and tea. It serves as a go-to spot for those needing a quick bite or a quiet corner to work on a laptop, thanks to the availability of Wi-Fi. The friendly and fast service is a highlight, ensuring that even when the cafe is busy, you can get what you need without a long wait. The menu caters to a range of tastes with vegetarian options and quick bites.
As the day turns into evening, Prima Brooklyn transforms. The cafe shifts into a cozy wine bar, offering a curated selection of wines. This transition allows it to serve different needs and crowds throughout the day, from a morning coffee run to a relaxing evening with a glass of wine. The bar onsite is a convenient amenity, providing a place to enjoy a drink and unwind. This adaptability makes Prima Brooklyn a truly unique fixture in the neighborhood's social scene, a place that you can visit at different times for different reasons and always find something to enjoy.
However, as with any popular local spot, the experience can vary. While many customers praise the warm and cozy vibe, some have noted inconsistencies in the quality of coffee preparation, specifically with the foam on lattes and cappuccinos. Cleanliness of the back patio has also been a point of concern for some, particularly in the mornings. Despite these occasional drawbacks, the overall consensus is that Prima Brooklyn is a worthwhile establishment. Its popularity with locals speaks volumes about its core strengths: a great atmosphere, friendly service, and a valuable role in the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Very popular with the locals. They’re always super busy each time I’ve gone. I’ve found the coffee here to be very inconsistent. Often, the foam on my lattes and cappuccinos have too many air bubbles. Also, they don’t seem to tidy / sweep the back patio upon closing. Many times I’ve arrived just after opening only to go to the back patio to find the tables and chairs all scattered + large crumbs of food on the tables and deck covered in ants and many birds lingering to snatch the crumbs. Prima isn’t the best but also not the worst.
September 11 · Keisha BLocal spot that is warm and cozy. I observed that they offer wine however that is in the evening. I ordered the teddy bear and a cup of coffee. Service friendly and fast. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
July 29 · Shaquana Lan adorb coffee shop, loved by the locals! plenty of seating options (front porch, inside - a long alley way, and backyard tucked into quietness). ac is not very strong but doable in the summer. good wifi. good americano and pastry!
July 11 · MirandaI would love to like this place since it’s the closest coffee shop to me but in recent years my experiences have been lacking. The coffee is pretty good, can be inconsistent but it’s decent. The service is what’s really lacking. The baristas look miserable and can’t even be bothered to say hello. I asked them “how’s it going?” and didn’t even get a response. If you want people to tip you’re gonna have to at least pretend to be nice to customers… as a barista myself I can say that it’s really not that hard to fake a smile and at least say hello.
August 17 · alec ilstrupThis place is right around the corner from where I live, I’ve been coming here for years, since before it was Prima, it was primrose. Now I wrote this review from the front outdoor seating area, sipping on a tasty hot cup of drip coffee, eating a delicious chocolate chip scone. They have plenty of tasty pastries, which never disappoint, and the baristas that work here are friendly and approachable.I feel grateful this cafe is so close to where I live. I also feel grateful that all manners of being are welcome here— I can come to work and feel comfortable, I can come to socialize, to watch the birds, or the many people walking down Greene ave. I appreciate that it’s typically poppin’.My only wish is that the back and front outdoor seating areas be made more comfortable, with plants and flowers. Unfortunately it’s been remarkably barren and it need not be that way.
