What is Worth Choosing
For New Yorkers looking to explore the cuisine of El Salvador, Puerta del Sol is the ideal starting point. While the menu is extensive, the true value lies in the authentic Salvadoran dishes that are less common across the city. The absolute must-try items are the Pupusas. These thick, handmade corn tortillas filled with cheese, beans, or pork rind are a national dish for a reason, and according to many locals, Puerta del Sol prepares them masterfully. Pair the Pupusas with a side of Casamiento (rice mixed with beans) for a perfect, savory meal.
For those seeking a full entrée, the Salvadoreno—a sirloin steak sautéed with vegetables and served with Salvadoran cheese and casamiento—offers an authentic and hearty experience. Seafood lovers should consider the robust Sopa Di Mariscos, a rich and flavorful seafood soup packed with shrimp, mussels, clams, and fish. Even with the mixed feedback on service occasionally mentioned in user reviews, the quality and authenticity of the best-selling Salvadoran items are consistently praised, making the food itself a worthwhile choice. Finish your meal with a traditional Tres Leches cake or a creamy Arroz Con Leche (rice pudding) to complete the Central American culinary journey. The ability to have this multi-cultural menu delivered right to your door, from a Salvadoran breakfast to a full steak and seafood dinner, makes Puerta del Sol a uniquely valuable option in the Brooklyn dining and delivery ecosystem.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1$44+a Generous tip— this is probably the third experience I’ve received from this restaurant. I am not sure if its the owner or the employees that work like they have a stick up their behinds, but I am clear and concise with my order— every single time, the food is either not what I ordered, or is something similar But NOT WHAT I ORDERED. Food is bland, And has lost its touch with the customer’s satisfaction. Honestly don’t know how its still operating with the crap customer service provided. SOMEONE should be fired.
February 17 · Ruben Rodasyou, be the judge! If you look closely and pay attention to the comments they are from family and close friends. This place should be only for pupusas and nothing else, why? It is the only good thing that they do well!
August 12 · Sciuto 32I’ve only ordered take out so I can’t speak on the portions you get in the restaurant but for the take out the portions are extremely small like a chipotle scoop of rice and everything else and I’m not asking for it to be falling out but my moneys worth at least would be nice ..the food isn’t bad but the pupusas are what’s actually really good from here
November 27 · Sam CruzI dont like this because they are charging for service bad other restaraunts dont and overall dirt fod hair on my food
April 19 · Edwin RosalesI haven't eaten in here yet but I've ordered at least three times through seamless and came in for take-out. The restaurant was super clean and spacious, so you can socially distance as you please. The waitress and other staff there were super warm and friendly which I appreciated.THE PUPUSAS HERE ARE AMAZING!!!!! THEY TASTE SO GENUINE AND YOU CAN TELL THEY WERE MADE WITH LOVE.So far, I've had the bean and cheese, chicken and cheese, and cheese and they were all nothing short of amazing. How refreshing it is to have a legitimately amazing spot literally a block away. I hope they never change *fingers crossed*
