The Chai Bar is undoubtedly the main attraction, offering a variety of house-blended teas:
- Karak Chai: A strong, dark tea boiled with milk and sugar, known for its robustness and creamy texture ($5.00).
- Masala Chai: The classic spiced tea, infused with a blend of aromatic spices like cardamom, ginger, and cloves ($6.00).
- Kesar Chai: A luxurious and aromatic blend. Kesar, the Hindi word for Saffron, indicates that this tea is infused with strands of saffron, giving it a distinctive floral note, a beautiful golden color, and a truly royal flavor ($6.50).
- Doodh Path (or Doodh Patti): A rich, milky, and intensely boiled tea that translates literally to "milk and leaf." It’s a traditional way of preparing tea where the leaves are slow-cooked in milk until the chai is smooth, deeply colored, and gently spiced, perfect for a soothing, slow afternoon sip ($4.50).
- Rose Chai: A fragrant, delicate chai with subtle, aromatic rose notes ($5.00).
Their Espresso Bar is equally robust, offering high-quality takes on the essentials. Popular options include the Flatwhite ($5.25), the Macchiato ($4.00), and the Dirty Chai ($6.00), which blends espresso with a spiced chai base. For a sweet treat, the Affogato ($9.00), featuring espresso poured over ice cream, is a premium indulgence.
For those looking for something cool and refreshing, the Refresher Bar features unique concoctions like Shezan Dreams ($6.50), Mint Mojito ($6.50), and the Rose Lavender Refresher ($6.50).
The baked goods menu offers delectable pairings for any beverage. Must-try items include the Liege Waffle ($5.00), Lemon Loaf ($5.00), and the Matcha Loaf, alongside house-favorite desserts like the Pistachio Baklava and the moist, creamy Tres Leches.

June 01 · Alexander CsorbaLast Monday was soft and inviting—a perfect spring day in Brooklyn with breezy warmth that carried the scent of blossoms through the air. My friend and I ventured to Ruhani Café on Atlantic Avenue, lured by the promise of a quiet chai break and a tucked-away backyard oasis. What greeted us was pure serenity: stepping behind the café, we found a lush veranda of greenery—ivy-clad walls, hanging vines, and cozy bistro tables under delicate string lights. The space felt designed for slow afternoons: a gentle mix of shade and sunlight filtering through, low conversations drifting around, and the comforting hum of city life just beyond the walls. It truly felt like a secret garden in the middle of Brooklyn. We chose to stay and soak it all in. While the menu specializes in chai, we decided to try their signature blends:• Kesar Chai – beautifully aromatic, with saffron notes that felt regal and comforting• Doodh Patti – smooth, milky, and gently spiced in the traditional style• Pistachio Baklava – a crisp, honeyed square with vibrant green crunch and just the right level of sweetness• Tres Leches – tender, soaked sponge with a creamy, milky depth that somehow felt both light and indulgentThe chai was crafted with care and elegance—each cup poured as though it were a ritual, highlighting the nuances of saffron, cardamom, and slow-steeped spices. The tres leches, in particular, was a revelation: moist, rich without heaviness, and utterly memorable. What made the experience even more special were the two baristas, Mahrukh and Yeliz—gracious, warm, and genuinely proud of their craft. Their kindness extended beyond service; they surprised us with a taste of their in-house saffron-pistachio-cardamom ice cream—an unexpected treat that encapsulated the delicate yet bold spirit of the café.Between the sunlit backyard, the thoughtfully prepared chai, and the generosity of Mahrukh and Yeliz, Ruhani Café became more than a stop—it was a moment of calm elegance. Perfect for an afternoon unwind or a slow chat with a friend.
June 19 · Mohammed AlsalmanLovely owners and one whiff of the spices filling the cafe is enough to know it's going to be good. We really enjoyed the rose late, kesari Chai and homemade baklava.Definitely coming back to enjoy the patio on a sunny day.
June 17 · Isis Fusuch a delicious, calming cafe. the music is great and I was able to read while my partner worked on some homework. the chai was absolutely delicious and they have oat milk! the cheddar chive biscuit (with siracha) was so yummy. will definitely come again!
April 09 · Becca SamuelsonThere is a lot of baklava out there, you cannot beat homemade ones that pack the kind of bite that will leave you daydreaming for more. Paired with the fresh chai made to the order, you are in for a treat! Ruhani Cafe is a Brooklyn gem and definitely worth commuting to, if you are outside of the neighborhood. Not too many cafes in NYC provide relaxing, calming environments alongside good eats.
