What is Worth Choosing
For a first-time visitor or a local user looking for a reliable, flavor-forward meal, the following categories represent the best of what SHANGHAI XPRESS has to offer, focusing on reported quality and core menu offerings.
The Spice & Flavor Route:
- The Hot and Sour Soup ($6.25): Given the praise for the restaurant's balanced spice, the Hot and Sour Soup is an ideal starting point to test the chef’s flavor balance.
- Chicken Green Chili ($13.75): This dish, served with white rice, is likely one of the options where the "nice hint of spice" and clean preparation truly shine.
- Beef Dishes: Following the positive feedback on the beef, any main course featuring this protein is a strong recommendation for a satisfying, unexpectedly high-quality meal.
The Comfort Classics:
- Lo Mein and Fried Rice: The foundation of any great local Chinese spot. Options like the simple Egg Lo Mein ($10.25) or the Chicken Lo Mein ($11.75) are perfect for a classic comfort meal, with the Lo Mein being a staple for a quick and filling dinner.
- The Chicken Manchurians ($13.75): A popular Indo-Chinese fusion dish that is often a benchmark for flavor and a slightly different profile from typical American-Chinese fare, making it a worthy choice for those looking for something unique.
While the menu is concentrated, the reported quality in key areas—spice balance, portion size, and a less-oily finish—suggests that SHANGHAI XPRESS delivers a reliable, above-average local Chinese food experience, particularly for those prioritizing quick, flavorful, and convenient dining.

SHANGHAI XPRESS Reviews
Hey this place deserves a 5 star review...The chef provides good portions and I really love how the food actually comes out with a nice hint of spice. The balance of spice is difficult to find at other similar style restaurants. Another thing I like about this establishment is the fact that the food is not excessively oily.I tried the beef and it was waaaay better then I expected I hope to try it again soon.
March 02 · Nx NuOkay I hate to be the one to bash any place. But they are literal trash. I wanted lomein and I felt like it was desi noodles LOL. Their dumplings were like literally bread in a shape of a moon. Also extremely overpriced. Chinese food is cheap! I wouldn’t mind if it was expensive but the food is literally trash. Idk how they run. Don’t waste your money here
April 18 · Laila MubasharThey never have the items you need. A zinger burger is one of the most common food items in Hicksville. I call on weekends and they are always out of stock at lunch time. Very poor management.
