★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had a great friend’s meetup before anime claw. The sushi was very fresh and while the combinations weren’t quite there I’d still recommend for takeout or a casuals date night in the area. You can get your sushi fix and be close to many night life activities after.
August 15 · Zachary MartzOne of the best sushi places in town. Everything was excellent . We had several combinations of sushi and sashimi and was just delicious. Went there 3 times already . Service is very friendly..and behind the sushi bar there is an “angry” demanding sushi man :-) we felt in safe hands!! I would go again!!
July 04 · Tarek FarahatWe got one of their omakase sets. It came with about 15 pieces of sushi. The set included mackerel, trout, squid, toro, and uni among other dishes. All the pieces were fresh and delicious. There was only 1 piece that we didn’t really care for but only cause it lacked flavor compared the others. Our favorites were the uni and otoro. We also got the green tea tiramisu for dessert. Very strong and bitter matcha flavor which went well with the vanilla ice cream.
July 25 · N CThis is one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in New York City. Although the price is slightly on the high side, the fish is so fresh and so well-cut that you should indulge yourself. If you are the type of person who needs to drown their sushi in soy sauce and wasabi, this place might not be for you. Every slice is perfectly seasoned with a variety of sauces, and it’s not usually soy sauce. The waiter was attentive, and the fish came out quickly over several different courses, timed just right so we never felt rushed or abandoned. The decor is Japanese minimalist; clean and sparse with lots of wood and light colors.I eat a lot of sushi. I love it. Living in Japan for five years taught me how to appreciate excellent fish and the complexity of flavors of a well-made roll. It’s not about the fancy things like spices and cream cheese, more about the subtleties of the flavors coming together. Sushi Katsuei brings all of this together along with a Japanese vibe to transport you to a faraway place.
March 04 · Tony GrundSushi and sashimi were of excellent quality and taste! My husband and I wanted to try as much sushi and sashimi as possible, so we ordered everything a la carte since it was our first visit to this place. The service was fast and our waiter Robin was really helpful, making the overall experience even better. The pricing was modest for New York City standards. Excellent ambience, perfect for a lovely meal. We plan to return to try their omakase and make these restaurant one of our regulars to come back to in Manhattan.
