★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Hidden Gem for Thai Food in NYC – Tam MaiThis restaurant is tucked away up a tiny, unassuming staircase, but the moment you step inside, you’re transported straight to Thailand. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the menu is packed with delicious options. Portions are generous, and the prices are very fair—especially the $15 lunch deal, which is an absolute steal. This has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. It feels like a true neighborhood secret, with hardly any tourists around. My go-to dishes are the green curry and pad see ew, both with tofu. They’re packed with flavor and always satisfying. I highly recommend them! The staff is incredibly kind and attentive (shout out to our server Tom!!), making the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for great Thai food in New York, I definitely recommend Tam Mai.
July 24 · Basha HNice restaurant almost hidden in midtown. Got the Thai tea, Thai coffee, and the lunch special: spring rolls, drunken noodles, and massaman curry. Flavor was amazing and was out in just a few minutes. Great service, our waitress was so kind. Such a great place, would definitely recommend!!

August 24 · Ray SonThis place has the most flavorful thai food. We ordered the basil fried rice, chicken drunken noodles, the tom yom soup and the fried calamari. Everything was delicious and the waiter we had was an angel! The best service ever. The space is a bit on the smaller side but it’s definitely better for a small group instead of a big party
August 28 · Tarannum RahmanIf you’re near 56th Street, definitely check out Tam Mai Thai! It’s a bit tucked away upstairs but absolutely worth the find. The food was so fresh and flavorful, we got the Pad See Ew and a bunch of other dishes, and everything was delicious with really generous portions. The service was also super friendly and quick. It felt like a nice little escape from the city noise to just relax and enjoy some great Thai food. Will definitely be back, and it’s also a solid option for takeout or delivery!
