What is Worth Choosing
For anyone in Connecticut visiting Ten Twenty Post, the key is to lean into their specialties. It is absolutely worth choosing an item from the **Froid Et Cru (Chilled And Raw)** selection first. The **Daily Selection Of East & West Coast Oysters** is a required starting point, as the restaurant prides itself on sourcing and serving only the best, freshest selections.
Next, look to the **Simplement Poisson (Simple Fish)** section of the menu. Dishes like the **Seared Sea Scallops** ($30.00) or the simply prepared **Atlantic Salmon** ($27.00), pan seared or grilled and served with a warm Israeli Couscous Salad and Haricot-vert, truly showcase the quality of their ingredients and the precision of the kitchen. These dishes allow the fresh fish to be the star. For those looking for a classic New England feel, the **Steamed 1.5 Lb. Lobster** ($34.00) or a comforting bowl of **White Clams & Mussels** ($18.00) are excellent, authentic choices. Finally, do not leave without trying the famed **1020 House Made Fries**. Although they may be "very deep fried" and "extra crispy," as some customers describe them, they are a cult favorite that perfectly embodies the restaurant's commitment to preparing everything from scratch with exacting quality. Pair your meal with a selection from the **Great wine list** (especially on a Sunday for the half-price special) to complete your authentic Darien bistro experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Glad to find another new place to enjoy. Just a quick visit but very nice atmosphere. Service was great. Caesar Salad a little too much cheese, could have been a larger portion for the price they charge....and only 1 anchovy???? But definitely want to come back for a full meal soon.
October 04 · Ernie TaddeiWe had Popcorn shrimps, Boneless Short rib and 1020 fries. Overall, food was good and vibe was amazing. The place was very kid-friendly which was great! They also have amazing outdoor seating for when the weather warms up. Lots of parking is right beside the restaurant.I recommend the short ribs but not the popcorn shrimp. The batter hardly stayed on the shrimp, it comes off even before you dip it in condiments. It was served in this little bowl which made the bottom shrimp very soggy.1020 fries was great if you like very deep fried fries. Extra crispy and on the oily side. Wished there was more truffle oil. If you like soggier fries, probably leave this out.Service was great and can I just give a shout-out to the owner for having a diaper changing station in their handicapped restroom. Most restaurants leave them out! Such a lifesaver.Would definitely revisit as they could accommodate our baby and dog.
May 16 · Melissa WuI’ve been coming here for over 30 years and usually love it. Just last week I had a great experience, so I brought a friend today, excited to show them one of my go-to spots.I ordered my usual — burger and fries, extra crispy and hot. The fries showed up soft, lukewarm, and low-energy. Let’s just say “crispy” didn’t make the guest list. Our server? Not exactly unfriendly, but far from engaged. He stopped by once in 90 minutes, so anything missing (like pickles or ice) we had to ask for — after practically sending out an S.O.S. with our napkins. To his credit, he did bring things over quickly once we asked.Still rooting for this place — just hoping next time the fries and service are both wide awake.
August 07 · Lori Monte-HubbardThis is our favorite place! Is cozy and gorgeous, with best oysters. Specials on weekends are always delicious & fabulous. 1/2 price wine on Sundays. Service spectacular with great team.
January 11 · Robin CerratiWe tried this place for the first time on Morher’s Day and the service was great. The outdoor seating was perfect for us as we had our baby in her stroller. Oysters were fresh tasting and the lobster Mac and cheese was great as an appetizer. The short rib dish was delicious and I would get it again. Overall I appreciated the variety in the menu.
