★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- What an amazing Anniversary dinner at The Capitol Grille in Stamford.Such a nice surprise to see confetti and a sweet note at our table. Greeted with 2 glasses of prosecco and the nicest waiter Andreas who took care of our every need.Lobster crab cake was OUTSTANDING, calamari was really good but a bit spicy for us and the tuna tartare was yummy. Our steaks came overdone but they fixed it with no issue and they were delicious. I had the tomahawk veal chop and hubby had the rib eye, we split the creamed corn and mashed. Again, delicious.Do not pass on the coconut cream pie. All I can say is OMG!!!!The food was fantastic and went from a 10 to a 20 because of the above and beyond service and special attention they showed us to celebrate.To end the evening the took a photo of us and presented it in a card with another lovely note.Kudos to you Capitol Grille. - I ordered a steak medium, but it arrived medium well. The server didn’t ask if it was prepared correctly and just dropped it off. When I sent it back, the replacement was cooked right, but by then the rest of my meal was cold. - Celebrated my retirement with a dear friend. Love the vibe @ CG, rich, dark wood, and the watchful eyes of baseball great-Jackie Robinson, a Stamford gem and humorist, writer, Mark Twain!The food was exquisite - beef requiring no sauce along with sweet, succulent lobster. Our potatoes were gamma ray huge and divine.A plentiful pour of Malbec rounded out all the delights of our meal.Dessert was just enough decorated to make a big deal of my milestone. David was a wonderful server, attentive, giving us enough time to enough the meal and each other.I would go again to Capital Grille because the staff knows how to tend to wine, food, and people. - Went here for our anniversary. This location needs to improve in several ways. Our server wasn’t as attentive as she should have been, failed to mention the specials, and didn’t properly clean up the table after each course. Both my wife and my steaks were overcooked; we had to send hers back. Lastly, there needs to be some sort of enforced dress code. - Have been here twice for my birthday. Greeting staff and server (Joseph) were genuinely hospitable and attentive to my guest and I. The food is really good here—well seasoned and the right temperatures! Would recommend the field greens salad, tomahawk veal chop, steaks and the mashed potatoes here!
