★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I believe the social enterprise is fantastic. 30% of the profits going to support women and children in Pakistan is great. If that means the prices are a little bit higher, then so be it.The drinks are fine and the samosa could have been warmed up some more, but the experience of sitting inside is very chill and fun to do with friends.
June 04 · Vincent PhamThe Chai Spot in Soho is a really nice place to relax. The chai is great and the cool seating area makes it a perfect spot to hang out for a while. Very cozy vibe.
August 29 · John GonsalvesVery nice cozy and comfort spot, good for a friendly hangout or even a chill date. The atmosphere is pretty down to earth and they sometimes have a nice music selection I like to sing along to occasionally. The seats are very comfortable and the rugs give that familiar foreigner vibe.
March 29 · Nadine HosameldinSaw this spot on IG, and it looked like a must try! It was a disappointment. From the second we walked in the door the person taking orders continually yelled it was an hour wait to sit down in the lounge. (Even though there was a line - it was not an hour wait.)We ordered the Turkish Coffee, the Traditional Chai, and the Butter Chai. The only drink that was actually drinkable was the Butter Chai. The Traditional Chai tasted like cardamon in boiled water. The Turkish Coffee tasted like Cowboy Coffee. Both were disgustingly gross. There were gnats flying around our table and it was February (snowing outside). I honestly think this is the only place in the city with gnats this time of year. Our table had crumbs on both ends. The lounge area was a shoe free zone. The low tables and couches were unique and could have been cool, but it felt dirty. Overall, we wanted to like it much more than what it was like in reality. The saving grace was our server in the lounge area: Alex. Alex was awesome, super sweet and friendly.I would not recommend The Chai Spot. The drinks were overpriced, the front staff were rude, and although the lounge was decorated in a cool bohemian Middle Eastern vibe, it felt unclean. Even though it looked really cool on IG, this is one you’re not missing out on, and the IRL experience wasn’t worth it.
February 15 · Akilah Rahmaan BixlerI love masala chai so I was excited for some authentic chai. I ordered the traditional chai and it came from an insulated dispenser. Pretty disappointed considering it's the whole point of the business. The interior is cozy, would probably be nice in winter, but the chai itself lacking so I will explore other better places instead of coming again.
