What is Worth Choosing
Choosing what to order at The Mountain House can be overwhelming due to the expansive and delicious menu, but there are three main categories where this establishment truly excels and should be prioritized by any visitor from the New York area.
The absolute top choice is the Thin Crust Pizza. This is the restaurant’s claim to fame and local specialty. Ordering a whole pie, perhaps with a classic topping like Sausage or a creative specialty combination (like the recommended half-and-half of pepperoni and tomato, basil, and garlic), is essential. The crust is thin, crispy, and highly 'crushable,' making it the perfect centerpiece for any meal.
Second, the Appetizers are a true highlight that should not be missed. The generous portions and quality make items like the Baked Stuffed Clams ($4.95) and Fried Calamari ($5.50) excellent value. Patrons consistently rave about the non-pizza items, with the moist Meatballs with vodka sauce and ricotta being a frequently praised standout—a must-try if available. The generous portions continue with the salads; even a 'small' salad like the Caesar Salad ($4.95) is noted for being quite substantial and flavorful.
Finally, for a complete, budget-friendly meal, the classic Entrees are an incredibly solid choice. Dishes such as the Chicken Parmigiana ($9.75) and Eggplant Parmigiana ($8.95) are classic Italian comfort food served at fantastic prices. Paired with the relaxed, friendly environment and a selection from the impressive Cocktail or Beer menu, The Mountain House delivers a memorable and deeply satisfying dining experience that perfectly captures the taste and spirit of a cherished, long-standing local favorite.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Wow. We’ve driven by here a lot and never stopped in. A friend recently recommended it and we are so glad they did, the thin slice pizza is perfect and the waitress was very friendly! Will definitely be back.
July 12 · Carlos SiglerWowza. Amazing all around. We got the wedge salad, meatballs with vodka sauce and ricotta (they had a cute name on the menu but I can’t remember the name), and a large sausage pizza. Everything was excellent! The salad was delicious, the pizza was thin and crispy, but the meatballs were a standout. So moist and the vodka sauce was to die for.I also love how casual this place is. We were seated by the door and got to watch our server (who was also serving as the hostess) do a great job dealing with some of the more difficult people coming in. People can be so rude! But she handled everything well and still took care of our table. Overall we would come back in a heartbeat!
October 04 · Siobhan EGreat thin crust pizza 🍕, every time. Never disappoints. Good family place, they totally know how to handle bday parties and the like, will setup for 20 or so if you need. Sitting outside is nice in good weather too. Full bar, draft beer.
August 24 · Charlie RedmondNice comfort food/home style Italian food restaurant. Pizza, pasta, type dishes. Might not be as good as you Grandma's cooking but it's good enough. Food is very good and prices are ok. Cash saves you 3%, FYI.Cheese is crusted just right. Pizza is tasty. They serve alcohol. :)
August 03 · S YMy sister loves this place so she wanted to take me while I was visiting. When they say this crust, they mean really thin. It was like a cracker made it of pizza dough. It was good flavor but not very filling. I thought she was crazy when she said the two is us should get something else with the large pizza but she was right. There were two waiters for the entire restaurant and the service was really slow.It was a unique pizza but I don't think I'd rush back.
