The menu selection, while concise, is expertly executed. Beyond the coffee and decadent desserts, the café offers a light brunch featuring items that are perfect for a special, leisurely morning. Examples from the wider Bon Vivant menu include exquisite crêpes like La Bretonne (spinach, mushroom & goat cheese) or sweeter options such as Crêpes Banana, alongside classic offerings like Barron's Famous Pancakes. Their dessert menu may feature classics like Crème Brûlée and Crêpes Suzette, maintaining that authentic European patisserie feel. With light brunch for two costing around $30, it represents a reasonable indulgence for a high-quality, memorable experience. Moreover, the inclusion of alcohol in their offerings means patrons can enjoy a full-service experience, pairing their decadent treats or light meals with a selection of wines or spirits, such as a Mimosa, Bellini, or even a classic Old Fashioned or Margarita, further enhancing the European café ambiance.

September 28 · Julianne BurkeA new gem in the heart of Piermont!Enchanted by this new café in the center of town— it feels like stepping into a cozy corner of old Europe. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with charming decor that makes you want to linger over your coffee and dessert. The espresso and cappuccino are truly first-rate — rich, smooth, and clearly made with care and expertise. And the desserts? Decadent doesn’t even begin to cover it. Every bite tastes homemade, with flavors that transport you straight to a European patisserie. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. The family who runs the café welcomes you like an old friend, creating a genuine, heartfelt experience that’s becoming all too rare these days.A perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee, an afternoon treat, or a cozy evening with friends. Piermont is lucky to have this place — We’ll definitely be back!
September 21 · C LSerious Allegation of Discrimination: Dear Bon Vivant, Many of the local residents in the neighborhood have been very excited to welcome you with open arms (and a long awaited desire for a dedicated pastry/dessert shop in the neighborhood). My family and I visited on your opening day. I went online to see how your reviews were coming along and was extremely disheartened to see one of the shop responses to a review. It is a very serious thing to accuse a customer of discriminatory behavior and profiling based on an accent, especially in your first week of opening. It so happens that I, and many long time local residents, know the individual that you accused of profiling and unreservedly know that this individual 1) would never speak to any human that way or with that attitude and demeanor; and 2) would never profile someone because they have an accent. This is an international community and is full of people who travel abroad regularly, have lived in Europe, and are very familiar with the cafes of Western and Eastern Europe. There is no need to talk down to customers in reviews that you are unhappy with or to make such a slanderous accusation about a customer who was excited to patronize your shop. There is a way to disagree or start a dialogue without taking the tone that you have in your response. When we came to the shop on opening day, we also found the demeanor of the customer service a bit cold and patronizing, as if we were being talked down to for not understanding the business model. Nothing could be further from the truth as we lived in Europe for many years and have enjoyed many cafes across France, Austria and other locals with a similar model. The local community is here to support local businesses and isolating them or taking a combative tone is not going to foster the goodwill that is needed to keep local businesses afloat. If you want to succeed and have strong community support, maybe take in the feedback and adapt to the needs of your customers and the community. And please do not accuse someone publicly of discrimination when there are many character witnesses on that day and in the community to counter that accusation. It will only make customers hesitant to visit your store and share honest feedback if they know they will be falsely accused of discriminatory behavior.
September 22 · BebeThis place is really lovely. Super cute decor and seating areas inside and out, very friendly service, and the pastries and coffee drinks are delicious. I’m a little miffed by all of the harsh reviews so far—and was honestly hesitant to stop in because of them—but I’m glad I did. It’s a really unique little place.
September 20 · Kane AlbarronMaybe tone down the lights? For $25 a head, the place feels like a cafeteria, from 9AM to 9PM, with overhead lights turned up so bright that one could be forgiven for thinking this place is a school cafeteria. Then those tacky atrocious curtains. I was excited to see such a nice place moving in, but then to see it ruined by bright white overhead light was a disappointment. Seeing the beautiful windows covered up by frilly curtains? The nail in the coffin.
