Wafels & Dinges Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Wafels & Dinges is a beloved institution in New York City's dessert scene, bringing a slice of authentic Belgian culture to the urban landscape. This isn't just a dessert shop; it's a celebration of the Liège waffle, a dense, rich, and chewy waffle made with pearl sugar that caramelizes on the iron. The name "Dinges" is a fun Belgian word for "things" or "whatchamacallits," referring to the vast array of creative and delicious toppings that you can add to your waffle. The ambiance is casual and trendy, attracting a diverse crowd of locals and tourists alike, all united by a craving for something sweet and unique. What started as a popular food truck has grown into a well-established brick-and-mortar location, a testament to the quality and deliciousness of their offerings. Wafels & Dinges is the perfect spot for a quick bite, a leisurely dessert, or a comforting breakfast, offering a delightful experience that goes beyond the ordinary dessert counter.

What is worth choosing
Wafels & Dinges is a fantastic choice for anyone in New York looking for a dessert experience that is truly special. The primary reason to choose this place is the authentic and high-quality Liège wafel itself, which is a unique delight that is hard to find elsewhere. Unlike lighter, American-style waffles, the Liège wafel offers a denser, more satisfying texture with a naturally sweet, caramelized flavor. The extensive selection of toppings, or "dinges," allows for endless customization, ensuring there's always a new combination to try. Whether you're in the mood for a classic pairing like fresh strawberries and whipped cream, or a more adventurous one like the "Baconized" wafels, you're sure to find something to love. The location in Midtown makes it a perfect destination for a midday treat, a quick breakfast, or a casual dessert after a meal. While some may find the prices to be on the higher side for a dessert, the quality and experience justify the cost. For a fun, delicious, and unique dessert, Wafels & Dinges is a must-visit spot that truly lives up to its reputation as a New York City gem.

September 14 · Simon CurtisFirst time here and it was one of the best desserts. It was almost closing time and the wafel maker/cashier from new mexico took his time making the wafel. He also let me use the restroom nearby that had to be unlocked with a key (very clean bathroom). Thank you.
August 31 · christopher arandaI’ve been stopping here and enjoying their waffles with speculoos (cookie butter) for years! I had the pleasure of working just down the block front them and they make for a great little treat. They’ve brought the speculoos or cookie butter over to us from Europe long before Trader Joe’s and other markets carried it locally.** New addition to my review after receiving a shipment of theirs. The presentation is lovely, the items were packaged and handled with care. I highly recommend ordering from them, they do a great job with packaging your items well. The waffles (or wafles as they list) are delicious, the Belgian pearl sugar they use really caramelizes beautifully when you heat the waffles, the aroma wafts through your whole home and the scent is intoxicating. The spekuloos is my favorite but they also have the delicious dulce de leche and milk chocolate spread, keep your own whipped cream handy if you’re so obliged, not that these need any more dressing up.
