West Side Steakhouse Introduce
In a city famed for its steakhouses, West Side Steakhouse carves out a special place as an authentic and unpretentious gem. Located at 597 10th Ave, this classic American steakhouse brings a taste of tradition to the modern, trendy neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. It’s the kind of place you go when you’re looking for a top-tier steak, great drinks, and a dining experience that feels both upscale and comfortably cozy. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner, a celebratory night out, or a special meal with family.
The heart of West Side Steakhouse is, of course, the steaks. Each cut is a testament to quality, and the menu features all the classics, from the Filet Mignon to the Rib-Eye. The undisputed star, however, is the Porterhouse, affectionately referred to as the “King of Steak” on the menu. This magnificent cut is a diner’s dream, combining the tender, buttery texture of a filet with the robust, beefy flavor of a New York Strip, all on a single bone. Diners consistently praise the steaks for being "juicy, flavorful and had a perfect crust," a testament to the kitchen's skill and attention to detail.
But a steakhouse experience is not complete without the sides, and West Side Steakhouse delivers in spectacular fashion. The menu is filled with classic accompaniments like Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and Three Cheese Mac ‘n Cheese. Customers rave about the quality of the sides, with one reviewer declaring the broccoli "simply perfect." The appetizers are equally tempting, from the classic Shrimp Cocktail to the savory Slab Bacon. To complement the food, the bar offers a great selection of cocktails and an extensive wine list, ensuring a perfect pairing for every course.
The restaurant's service is consistently described as "fantastic" and professional, with a friendly staff that makes every guest feel welcome. The fast and efficient service is a highlight, whether you're dining in or ordering for delivery. While some reviews mention that the atmosphere can be a bit noisy and that steaks are occasionally overcooked, the overall consensus is that West Side Steakhouse is a reliable and excellent choice for a classic steakhouse meal that offers great value compared to some of the more high-end competitors in Midtown.

When you visit West Side Steakhouse, the most rewarding choice is to go for what they do best: steak. The New York Strip Steak and Filet Mignon are both excellent options, but for the full, iconic steakhouse experience, consider the Porterhouse “King of Steak.” This massive 45 oz. steak is meant to be shared and offers the best of both worlds, with a portion of both the filet and the strip.
To start your meal, the appetizers are well worth exploring. The Slab Bacon with BBQ sauce is a standout, and the Shrimp Cocktail is a classic choice that is consistently well-received. For a side, don't miss the Three Cheese Mac 'n Cheese or the Creamed Spinach, which are both essential steakhouse accompaniments that are executed perfectly here. If you're looking for a vegetable side, the Roasted Broccoli is a fantastic and simple option that has received high praise.
If you or someone in your party isn’t in the mood for a steak, the menu also offers a variety of other delicious entrees. The Chilean Sea Bass and Braised Pork Shank are excellent alternatives that showcase the kitchen’s versatility. The West Side Burger is also a great option for a more casual meal, praised by customers for being juicy and delicious.
Finally, be sure to ask for a wine recommendation from their great wine list to perfectly pair with your chosen steak. The cocktails are also a highlight, so a pre-dinner drink at the bar is a great way to start your evening. Choosing West Side Steakhouse is about embracing the classic steakhouse tradition, and the best way to do that is to indulge in their fantastic steaks, decadent sides, and a great drink.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1FANTASTIC! The food, the drinks, the waiter!! 100 all around. We wanted to find an excellent steak place here in New York and we found it. Our steaks were juicy, flavorful and had a perfect crust. We also got Mac and cheese, homestyle fries and the mozzarella with peppers. It was very quiet and nice. I would highly suggest stopping in here for a radiant meal.
May 23 · SarahThe place was a bit noise, I was not expecting that.We asked for medium rare, but the meat was a bit more done than that.It was OK but not awesome.Really loved the broccoli, simply perfect. It was 95 per person, with one beer, no appetizers nor desert
May 01 · Antonieta Ponce de LeãoA quiet and classy spot. My New York Strip was savory with the sauce it was a buttery goodness. The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and a salty savory! The service was white gloves without the gloves! The food was amazing but the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful what a change from the typical Manhattan chaos to dine. You get to enjoy your food and your guest and the conversation is easy to hear. It was a perfect meal and a perfect place I highly recommend it!!!
January 02 · Beau BenderIt’s a solid steakhouse in a friendly and comfortable place. What really touched me as a senior is that another customer needed help with his walker and they went out of their way to be accommodating and respectful. The steak was good, decent baked potatoes were delivered but the vegetable that stuck out was how they do their asparagus-simple and superb. The bread was hot and the onion soup was good. You might want to skip on the Caesar salad until better lettuce is available in the springtime. Wait staff was very nice.
February 10 · Brett MontclairIf you would like to take your partner to a nice and elegant place, this is the place to go! Beautiful ppl and wonderful vibes, not to mention the food, it is so so so good, and the waiters are so respectful and humble.
