Wolcott Deli Grocery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the heart of Brooklyn’s vibrant Red Hook neighborhood, you’ll find a true staple of New York City local culture: the Wolcott Deli Grocery. More than just a corner store, this establishment perfectly embodies the spirit of the local "bodega" and "deli"—a dual-purpose venue that serves as both a quick-stop grocery market and a dependable kitchen for made-to-order meals. For any New Yorker, whether you’re a long-time local or just passing through the industrial charm of Red Hook, a reliable deli is an essential part of daily life, and Wolcott Deli Grocery fills that role with neighborhood charm and efficiency.
The classic New York deli is a cultural institution, celebrated for its efficiency, variety, and the personal touch that keeps locals coming back. The Wolcott Deli Grocery is no exception, providing the convenience of a nearby market stocked with everyday essentials alongside a full-service food counter ready to whip up a fresh breakfast sandwich to start your day or a hearty hero for lunch. This dual functionality makes it an indispensable local resource, simplifying life for busy Brooklynites who need quality food and quick supplies in one friendly stop. The atmosphere here is one of genuine neighborliness, a hallmark of the best local spots that helps cement a sense of community in the surrounding streets.
While not a classic, large-scale delicatessen famous for pastrami on rye (though many local delis carry their own versions of these classics), this local spot focuses on quick, hot, and satisfying grill and sandwich items that define the modern neighborhood deli experience. Customer feedback consistently highlights the welcoming, friendly service and the generous portions offered for the price, cementing its reputation as a humble yet vital community hub. One happy customer specifically noted the excellent recommendation of a "spicy chicken club" from the grill man, praising the delicious food and planning a definite return. Another review appreciated the "nice people" who are "humble, friendly and for the amount of food they give the price is right." This focus on value, quality, and personable service is what makes this spot a classic New York Deli Grocery.

October 05 · Abrar MahiI think they where Arabs, nice people; humble, friendly and for the amount of food they give the price is right.
May 25 · Bori's Midnight MechanicsI was passing by and felt hungry, so I stopped by the deli and I ordered one of the most delicious chicken sandwiches I ever eaten for looong time. The guys who run the deli are super friendly.
July 02 · Ahmed AllamIt’s a mid size deli but it’s packed wall to wall every snack and beverage you could think of, plus everything else that’s not edible in between including small nip bottles of liquor. I appreciate that they ensure there’s a variety in the store so there’s a little of everything for everyone’s needs. They make sandwiches (cold/hot) of all sorts. I’ve tried their breakfast sandwich (sausage, egg, cheese, and hash brown) very filling! A few weeks before I had the pleasure of trying their quesadilla which was out of this world. I love that the area where food is made is super clean. I mention that because as we all should know not all places that serve the public food care to keep a clean, sanitary kitchen but this place is always kept in order. The guys in the store were so polite and respectful. Good service all the way around. Stopping in for food is definitely worth it if you’re hungry and need a quick but quality bite.
November 15 · Imagine JuliTony has been overpricing things.. he catches an attitude when you ask how much is your total. And he sneaks in $1 or $2 during checkout and charges you extra. Especially when you’re using a card or EBT. Check your receipts and ask him how much are things. I been to that store 3 times alone this month and he has charged me extra without me knowing until I got home. I bought a turkey sandwich on a ROLL , a drink and cookies and he charged me $20.00 . I will be reporting him to the business bureau as well as department of health. Tony has gotten real greedy and sneaky . Pay attention to your total.
