The atmosphere at Woodlawn Cafe is defined as casual, making it an unfussy spot suitable for everyday visits. While primarily categorized as a cafe, the wide array of offerings—from robust coffee to a fully stocked bar with beer, wine, and hard liquor—suggests a versatility that goes beyond a typical coffee shop. This blend of features speaks directly to the needs of a diverse New York clientele, from individuals to larger groups, which the cafe is equipped to handle.
A significant portion of the cafe's value proposition is its efficiency and strategic location, which we will explore in detail. Local users often prioritize speed and accessibility, particularly when they are catching the subway or a bus, a reality that the cafe’s operations seem to be structured around.
It is important to note that, as with any local business, customer experiences can vary. While the cafe is appreciated for its convenience and quick service, some feedback from the community suggests a need for potential customers to assess the current value of the food and drink against the pricing structure upon their visit, as some patrons have expressed concerns regarding this balance. Our goal is to present a balanced view, focusing on the factual offerings and the context of the location.
The reputation for being a place that handles outgoing orders efficiently is a major draw. As one local noted, people often grab their order right before catching the bus or the subway, underscoring its role as a key transit-adjacent vendor. This commuter-friendly model is often essential in high-traffic corridors like Jerome Avenue.
The Woodlawn Cafe is more than just a place for a morning caffeine fix; it is a community resource adapting to the varied demands of the Bronx neighborhood it serves, offering a full suite of services that make it a compelling stop for many.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They OVERCHARGE since there’s no place close to buy food and drinks. Food isn’t the quality it used to be or worth the outrageous prices they charge.
June 30 · Mike TeeIt's a Nice place never really crowded plenty of seats to sit and eat your food on some ocassions it does get full of people inside mostly outgoing orders people catch the bus or the Subway right after they get they're order
July 18 · Edwin QuinonesIt's a good spot especially if you got out of train/work stressed out basically that was an ideal place for many in the neighborhood. Gary the owner or previous was awesome hope to see him there some day. There were a few to many local trouble makers at times as any other place security at a must and much needed. I experienced a few too many events and met my love partner there already 2+ yrs. I always thought and think a new décor & a bit of lighting in certain areas is needed and recommended,
May 29 · Cristie LoveHad a great time at Karaoke here every other Saturday with Boogie B. Gary the host definitely a stand up guy. Delores the barmaid pretty, charming and friendly.
June 09 · Thomas CarswellI've been coming here for years. It's a great place. I just wish they had drink/happy hour specials. Needs it BADLY!!
