For residents across New Jersey craving genuinely authentic and comforting Korean cuisine, Yesan Korean Restaurant in Palisades Park stands out as a true gem. Situated in the heart of Bergen County’s renowned Korean district, Yesan offers a menu deeply rooted in traditional flavors and home-style preparation. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and clean, featuring a pleasant mix of traditional and modern decorations. This blend ensures a comfortable dining experience whether you are visiting for breakfast, a quick bite during lunch, or a comforting dinner. The menu is expansive, showcasing specialized dishes like a variety of Kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), savory Jeon (Korean pancakes), and deeply flavorful braised dishes (Jorim and Jeongol). At Yesan, patrons can expect not only authentic flavors but also very generous portions, a feature that enhances the overall value and satisfaction of the meal. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Please do not be fooled by the 1 star reviews!I go to Korea a lot and I also visit many Korean restaurants in the US, so I can say confidently I know what is good Korean food. I had a grilled smoked pork dish, a braised beef dish, fried fish, and a spicy tofu beef stew. The portions are very generous and the taste is incredibly authentic. We were given four unlimited banchans, all which tasted super fresh and used quality ingredients. The service is very friendly and nice and the atmosphere of the restaurant is clean with a mix of traditional and modern decorations.Absolutely will come again!
April 06 · Tiffany YuLovely home-style restaurant with amazing service! The potato and pork bone soup was delicious and comforting — perfect on a dreary day.The kimchi which came as a side dish was authentic and refreshing (loved and approved by my Korean friend who has high standards!)
April 06 · Zoe XieI love their barley rice set! Salad, fish, barley rice and appetizers. A 8-dish meal for only $19.99, an amazing anti-inflation pricing!!! The salad is super fresh and taste just like from the farm. Great fish quality and super amazing kimchi! I came with friends and we ordered dumplings, bbq beef, potato rib soup and some fried seafood! Everything is delicious and of high quality! Will comeback and try more dishes next time!
April 06 · Lee PingyiI went here twice and this place does not deserve a 1 star review. My mom and I really enjoyed the barley rice set. The space and tableware is lovely and our server was friendly. However I do have to agree with some negative reviews. Some items are too sweet and don't taste Korean. Additionally I think I tasted 5-spice in the kimchi ( I do not enjoy 5 spice so I can pick it out pretty quickly). It can be a little disappointing when you order something and it's not what you were expecting. Additionally 5 spice has no place in Korean cooking.Aside from that, the food quality is good and it's a nice place to visit but I would probably stick with soondubu or something similar.
July 21 · SamWe had the special of veg bibimbap, soybean soup and grilled makerel. It was very tasty and good value. Fresh ingredients and not over seasoned. It’s more of a traditional Korean meal in a country setting. People write 1 star reviews so we were hesitant to try but it was a great meal. The grilled tofu was good but not anything out of the park crazy. We plan on going again next time we are in the area. I’d recommend to someone who usually enjoys their meals with slightly less sodium. If you’re into salty very stimulating Korean food, go elsewhere.
