Absolute Coffee Introduce
Welcome to Absolute Coffee, a genuine Brooklyn gem nestled in the vibrant and historic Boerum Hill neighborhood. In a city where great coffee shops are abundant, Absolute Coffee manages to stand out by fostering a warm, inviting atmosphere and demonstrating a deep commitment to quality in every cup and on every plate. It's more than just a place to grab your morning fuel; it's a true community hub and a comfortable haven for locals, remote workers, and casual visitors alike.
Absolute Coffee was founded on the idea that coffee is a relationship—between the barista and the customer, and between the coffee itself and the experience. This ethos is reflected in their meticulous approach to sourcing and crafting their offerings. They aim to be your new favorite neighborhood spot, a place so cozy and welcoming that you feel like you've been there a hundred times before. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick takeaway, settling down for a long work session, or meeting up with friends, Absolute Coffee is designed to suit your mood.
The menu is vibrant, diverse, and thoughtfully curated, blending classic coffee drinks with novel concoctions, and a variety of freshly made and locally sourced food items. The staff is consistently praised for being friendly, helpful, and eager to make your day better, contributing significantly to the cafe's overall pleasant and welcoming vibe. From the high-quality, locally sourced ingredients to the reliable Wi-Fi, every detail at Absolute Coffee is geared toward creating an 'absolute' great experience.
As a coffee shop and espresso bar, Absolute Coffee has earned a reputation for its passion for the perfect cup. Their dedication starts with the beans, which are freshly roasted from Gimme Coffee!, an award-winning macro roaster committed to quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. They also go the extra mile with their milk, locally sourcing all dairy from Batten Kill Valley Creamery in Salem, NY, ensuring it is free of pesticides, insecticides, and artificial growth hormones. Non-dairy alternatives, such as Califia Farms Almond Barista Blend and Oatly Oat Milk, are also available, reflecting a commitment to accommodating diverse preferences and sustainability.
The atmosphere itself is a major draw. Customers frequently describe it as cozy, casual, and a great place to work away from home. The interior features simple, indie décor, with elements like black and white photos and hand-drawn doodles, complemented by comfortable seating and ample natural light. The space is laptop-friendly, often featuring a communal table for remote workers, with fast Wi-Fi and power outlets to keep you productive. In the warmer months, the outdoor seating area provides a lovely spot to enjoy your beverage and watch the world go by on Atlantic Avenue. This combination of functionality and genuine warmth is what makes Absolute Coffee a standout in the Boerum Hill coffee scene.
Beyond coffee, the food menu ensures you have plenty of delicious options for any time of day. Bagels are hand-rolled from New Yorker Bagels, while the artisan breads and croissants come from Bien Cuit. Pastries, including vegan and gluten-free options, are sourced from quality local businesses like Sans Bakery and Devoe Street Bakeshop. The handcrafted sandwiches are popular for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, with creative names and high-quality fillings, such as the Mad Turkey with house-made Sriracha Aioli, the Absolute Pizazz with Smoked Nova Salmon, or the vegan Avocado Toast.
The commitment to being a community space extends to the evening, as Absolute Coffee also offers a variety of beer and wine selections, with local beers from breweries like Bronx Brewery and Kings County Brewers Collective. They even host a happy hour from 1 PM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, and offer seasonal specials like sangria in the summer, making it a versatile spot that transitions seamlessly from a morning cafe to an early evening hang-out.
The crowd at Absolute Coffee is diverse, welcoming college students, families, and is explicitly recognized as an LGBTQ+ friendly and Transgender safespace, highlighting its inclusive and neighborhood-focused approach.
In summary, Absolute Coffee is a prime destination in Brooklyn for New Yorkers seeking high-quality coffee, delicious food options, and a comfortable, productive, and friendly environment. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great coffee shop. The he staff was friendly and gave me some recommendations. I had a latte and it was pretty tasty haven’t tried anything else yet but seems similar to other coffee spots. Nothing stands out but nothing bad either.
May 03 · Juan ChavezThe barista is a Wisconsin transplant and the friendliest person in Brooklyn. Great cappuccino and almond croissant. A welcoming coffee shop to sit and relax while sipping your beverage of choice. An eclectic neighborhood to explore after your coffee break.
May 12 · David SkeenAbsolute Coffee is a really cute little coffee shop off of Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn! I visited for the first time this weekend, the lavender lemonade was so good. The staff were really efficient and accommodating as well, I had a great experience here!UPDATE (4/20/2025): I have returned to Absolute Coffee multiple times since my initial review was written, and I always have the best experiences here! :-) They make an excellent oat vanilla latte, and their seasonal raspberry mocha (with oat milk) is my favorite!! The staff are always SO nice, and the place is always clean & well-kept. I highly recommend this spot!!
April 20 · Kristen L. MatulisA great coffee shop with free wifi service.Nice staff and friendly. The have outside seatings as well. The pastries like chocolate croissant were not fresh; but the coffee both hot and iced were good. The Bagel with lemon cream cheese, tomato, onion, and smoked nova was so delicious; highly recommended. Not a great place for work or study due to the loud music inside.
April 24 · Zara KhakpourHello, I’m sorry but here is my experience. I came in and ordered a matcha latte and a bag of beans. Came time to pay and there was an option to tip and the option to cancel was cutoff. The server had to come over and tell me this. I’m sorry but the option is cutoff. So what does that mean? A mandatory tip? I’m not cheap and I would have gladly tipped a dollar for my matcha but the problem is a bought some beans and the tip came out to $4. I just opted to pay instead of asking the employee to come over and ask them how I could adjust the tip. The matcha was $6 and I paid a $4 tip. That’s not right.
