★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I really enjoyed the food and overall atmosphere at Antidote. The tables are spacious and not too cramped as in most of NYC places. Portion sizes were generous considering the pricing.I’m not a fan of large menus, but with the help of our server, we made our choices pretty quickly. The service was very attentive, and the food came out fast.Highly recommended!
June 27 · Anja A.Wow, this place is absolutely beautiful once you walk in and get's better. Came here with a friend for a early dinner / lunch, the place was on the quieter side and the staff were extremely attentive and nice. We stayed rather long and did not feel rushed as the place began to pick up. Our server answered all of our questions and gave us great recommendations. We ordered a little of what felt like everything, started with dumplings, dan - dan noodles which were SPICY for me even though we got mild. They were accommodating enough to withhold meat. We ended with the fish blossom which OMG? The presentation insane. Everything was absolutely delicious and would definitely go back.
April 10 · cleidy hI've been keen to come by Antidote for ages and recently had the chance to have dinner here with some friends! We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday - it was packed already, and continued to be busy the whole time we were there (so definitely make a reservation). We ordered a bunch of delicious dishes to share - some highlights:- We had the sichuan cold noodle and the dandan noodle, which were... surprisingly similar? The dandan noodle had minced pork but otherwise the peanut sauce and spicyness basically had the same flavour profile (which was probably on us not paying attention haha)- Sautéd string beans were delicious - the texture was wonderful (not overcooked too soggyness without being too hard or hard to chew), and the garlic flavour wasn't overpowering but added a nice depth to the beans themselves.- Sichuan chilli fried chicken was probably my favourite dish -- it wasn't crazily spicy by any means, but definitely had a healthy kick to it, and the chicken was so tender and juicy, and fried to a nice crisp without being too oily.- Dongpo pork was another standout - my only objection was that the ratio of fatty meat to lean meat was too high (felt a little too oily/rich), but otherwise delicious.- We also had the 'steam whole fish' which was much more meh. The fish itself was fine (tilapia tasted fresh, meat was tender and fell apart easily), but the overall flavour just felt a little bland. Ginger/scallion/soy sauce is such a classic sauce for steamed fish and its simplicity usually lets the natural flavours of the fish come through, but I fear this dish felt a bit flat overall.Other than the food, experience was generally lovely. Service was quick and attentive, and while the noise level was definitely higher than I expected/liked, it was still tolerable to just slightly yell to have a convo hehe. Price point was a little high, but nothing too crazy (and probably expected for this kind of Chinese restaurant)I'd love to come back to try some of their other dishes on their (fairly large!) menu - already looking forward to next time!
June 05 · Matthew HoSleek and spacious spot for upscale Chinese food. Especially enjoyed the Siu Mai with tea smoked duck. The Dong Po Rou was good too.
September 08 · Khoi PhamWe visited this chinese restaurant for a friend’s birthday and had a great experience. Since we had a large group, we ordered a variety of dishes to share — mostly spicy ones. Fair warning: the spicy dishes here are very hot, so order with caution if you’re sensitive to heat! The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere with beautiful decor and lively vibes. Service was good, and the quality of the food was excellent across the board. I’d definitely come back — but next time, I’ll go a little easier on the spice!
