All’Antico Vinaio Introduce
For New Yorkers who appreciate a sandwich that is more than just a meal—but an experience—All’Antico Vinaio is a name that needs no introduction. This world-renowned Italian sandwich shop, a true import from Florence, Italy, has brought its legendary flavors to the West Village. It has quickly become a sensation, living up to the high expectations set by its original Italian locations. Known for its generous portions, authentic ingredients, and a commitment to quality that you can "taste in every bite," this is not your average sandwich shop. It’s a place where tradition, flavor, and top-tier ingredients come together to create a sandwich that is truly a work of art.
The core of All’Antico Vinaio’s success is its unwavering dedication to fresh, high-quality ingredients. The sandwiches are built on a foundation of freshly baked Tuscan schiacciata bread, which has been praised as the "star of the show" and the "best bread I’ve ever eaten." This soft yet sturdy flatbread perfectly holds an incredible array of imported Italian meats, cheeses, and spreads. Customers have been delighted with the menu, which features creative and classic combinations. A popular choice is the roast beef sandwich, often referred to as "The New Yorker," which combines roasted beef with porcini cream, tomato, and arugula for an unforgettable flavor. Other standout options include "La Favolosa" with Tuscan salame and artichoke cream, and "La Paradiso" which features mortadella, stracciatella, and pistachio cream.
The sandwiches are not only delicious but also incredibly substantial. Many reviewers have noted that a single sandwich is large enough to be a full meal, or even to share. While the price might seem like a "splurge," customers consistently agree that the quality and size make it "worth it every now and then." The commitment to freshness is evident, as one customer who visited an hour before closing still found their sandwich to be "so fresh." The shop also serves a selection of wine and coffee, perfect for pairing with your meal or grabbing a quick drink. The casual atmosphere is perfect for a quick bite during a busy lunch break or for a relaxed solo dining experience.
The service at All’Antico Vinaio is another highlight. Despite the potential for long lines, the staff is known for being "super fast, friendly, and full of energy." This efficiency ensures that even with a crowd, the wait is manageable. Customers appreciate the workers' helpfulness and positive attitude, noting that the great service enhances the entire experience. This commitment to customer satisfaction, combined with the delicious food, makes All’Antico Vinaio a highly recommended spot for both locals and tourists looking for a true taste of Italy in New York City.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Delicious sandwich’s, I’ve been to their shop in Italy so had high expectations which were met thankfully!! I came an hour before closing an the food was still so fresh and the workers weren’t in a bad mood. Love it lol. I had the roast beef sandwich per the workers suggestion and it did not disappoint will be coming back. 20$ for a sandwich is a splurge but worth it every now and then you can definitely taste the quality ingredients.

July 12 · Matteo Migliaccio (Oraz)I found this place while looking for a different Italian sandwich place I went to and loved in the area. The young Italian guy at the counter is somehow always in the best mood, smiling and spreading laughs around the joint. The sandwiches are so good. But the real surprise (for me) was the absolutely delicious ice coffee. Especially since it’s so hard to find good coffee around this town. This was one of the best European style coffee cups I’ve had in nyc.
June 21 · Yonatan H. MishalThe sandwiches here were really good. The prices are a bit on the steep side, but most of the sandwiches are very filling and worth it. I got the L’Inferno, and the spread and eggplants in it were absolutely delicious. My only suggestion would be to offer some hot sauce for the sandwiches—it would be a great addition!
May 19 · David Parajon5 starsAn outstanding experience at All’Antico Vinaio in New York. I tried several sandwiches, but “La Paradiso” was by far the standout — incredibly fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and exceptional bread quality. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a relaxed breakfast in the city. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic Italian flavor with excellent service.
