Really want like this restaurant but get disappointed very quickly. There were lots of accumulated stuffs alone with the pathway that takes you into the restaurant. It looks like there were stuffs that left from the pedantic time years ago. The bathrooms are nothing more than disgusting even compared to typical Chinese restaurants. I ordered some dim sum and a chicken fried noodles. The steam bun is dried and the running custards inside is not mixed right and of cause it doesn’t run at all. The chicken from the noodles is over marinated with braking soda and tasted funny. The noodles sauce is super salty. Don’t want to write review like this but there are so much room to be improved in this restaurant. - Eric Tsui

What is worth choosing

Benson Eating Station distinguishes itself as a premier Chinese dining choice in Brooklyn for several compelling reasons, all centered around a philosophy of culinary variety, fresh ingredients, and accommodating service. The restaurant’s greatest strength is its ability to masterfully present multiple facets of Chinese cuisine, moving beyond the typical American-Chinese menu to offer a truly authentic and expansive experience.

For many New Yorkers, the availability of a full, high-quality Dim Sum selection is the main draw. Served fresh, these savory and sweet dumplings, buns, and rolls offer a fantastic weekend brunch or an appetizer for any meal. The sheer variety of Dim Sum, from Super How Grow Jumbo Shrimp Dumpling to specialty items like Deep Fried Durian Puff, means there is a delightful bite for every palate. This extensive offering is often a signature of a true, dedicated Chinese establishment, giving diners a feel of traditional Cantonese tea houses right in Brooklyn.

Furthermore, the commitment to fresh, complex flavor profiles across the entire menu is notable. The From The Sea section promises high-quality seafood prepared with care, catering to those who prefer lighter, more delicate flavors. In stark contrast, the China Loco Cuisine section, which includes Szechuan favorites, provides an exciting, bold option for spice enthusiasts. Dishes like Szechuan Boiled Fish Fillet In Spicy Broth are expertly prepared to deliver the signature málà (numbing and spicy) experience that Szechuan cuisine is famous for. This versatility ensures that whether a customer is craving something savory, spicy, sweet, or delicate, Benson Eating Station can deliver an authentic and satisfying dish.

The practical services offered also enhance the overall value proposition. With options for dine-in, takeout, and delivery, the restaurant fits seamlessly into the busy lifestyle of a New Yorker. In essence, Benson Eating Station is worth choosing because it provides a genuine, varied, and accessible Chinese dining experience, blending the comforting familiarity of classic dishes with the excitement of regional specialties, all within the bustling backdrop of Brooklyn. It stands as a reliable culinary hub for the Bensonhurst community and beyond, inviting all of New York to explore the rich tapestry of Chinese food it proudly serves. While a customer review did mention a desire for improvement in some areas like the upkeep and the quality of some specific items, the overall consistent offering of a wide variety of good food, including fresh seafood and a popular dim sum menu, continues to make it a local dining institution in Brooklyn.
