What is Worth Choosing
When visiting Blue Mountain in Brooklyn, the menu presents a mouth-watering array of choices that epitomize the best of Jamaican cooking. However, a few items consistently stand out and are highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying meal.
The Oxtail is arguably the crown jewel of the main menu. Slow-cooked until fork-tender and coated in a rich, savory gravy, this dish is the quintessential Jamaican comfort food experience. Pair it with the traditional Rice and Peas—rice cooked with kidney beans and coconut milk—to soak up every bit of the exquisite sauce. This combination is a classic for a reason and is one of the restaurant's most popular dishes.
Another must-try is the Jerk Chicken. Perfectly seasoned with the potent mix of herbs, spices, and Scotch bonnet peppers that define authentic jerk, it delivers a smoky heat that is both addictive and flavorful. For those who prefer a little sweetness with their spice, the Honey Jerk Chicken is a fantastic alternative.
Beyond the savory mains, exploring the selection of sides is essential. The Steam Vegetable offers a fresh, healthy balance to the richer dishes, while the Corn On The Cob provides a simple, satisfying element. For a unique Jamaican snack, consider the Pepper Shrimp, which offers a punchy, spicy kick that seafood lovers will appreciate.
Finally, no trip to Blue Mountain is complete without sampling the house-made beverages and pastries. The refreshing, unique flavors of the natural juices, such as Blue Mountain Sorrel (made from the hibiscus flower) or the tangy Blue Mountain Pineapple Ginger Juice, are the perfect thirst quenchers. For dessert, indulge in a slice of the classic Sweet Potato Pudding or the dense, festive Black Fruit Cake to round out your authentic Caribbean feast. Whether you're craving a hearty meal or a quick, flavorful bite, Blue Mountain offers a true taste of Jamaica that's well worth the visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1First time trying this place out. I ordered the Jerk Pork with Rice, veggies, plantains and a currant roll on the side. Everything was very good and very tasty. Customer service is what you'd expect in a Jamaican restaurant. If you can get past that, then you'll be fine. I'll be back if I'm in the area.
September 17 · Stephane BeraudLet’s talk about the customer service here. WOW NASTY IS NOT THE WORD! Place was dirty food all over the counter and rude workers! I asked for a quarter jerk chicken the lady was all the way in the back where they are prepping speaking to me let’s start with that she then said bread I said yes she came back out with my chicken and then when I asked did you give me the bread she said “You said no bread” “ YOU HAVE ME WALKING BACK AND FORTH FOR NO REASON” WOW EXCUSE ME THAT YOU DIDN’T CARE TO COME INFRONT AND SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS TO HEAR THEM AND THEN BE RUDE TO THEM! I paid my money for this food! How about the owner invest in good workers not ones who’s gonna run your business dry! Don’t run away customers cause of the workers attitude!
August 01 · Sha SarahBlue mountain located at Utica Ave Brooklyn NY WAS my go to Jamaican restaurant. NOT ANYMORE! Today 11/15/24 @ 1:40 pm. I spent 30 on take out. I asked the lady server how much is each dish in a large container? She told me $9 each. So I told her that I want stew chicken, macaroni & cheese, & yellow rice each in a large container. Then I ordered a chicken roti & I asked for them to put my roti bread separate from the roti chicken.I'm going to attach pic's to this review. To start, I barely got any Stew chicken, Mac & cheese, but plenty of rice.My chicken roti was all sauce and hardly any chicken. Roti had no potatoes or chick peas. Just 1 lonely piece of carrot.. Roti bread was Hard, Stale and crusty. In a word disgusting. After I ate the roti, I felt sick to my stomach. I dare not touch the stewed chicken and Mac & cheese taste horrible. I guess they got New chef's. All this Gross food cost me $30. Used to be a good restaurant. Not anymore. They'll never get any business from me ever again. DISGUSTING 🤢🤮.
