Boat Introduce
In New York City, a good bar is more than just a place that serves drinks; it's a social hub, a refuge, and a second home. While the city boasts an endless number of high-end cocktail lounges and trendy speakeasies, sometimes what you truly need is a no-frills, authentic neighborhood spot. That's where Boat comes in. Located in the heart of Brooklyn, this is a bar that proudly embraces its identity as a classic dive bar. It’s a place where the atmosphere is laid-back, the prices are great, and the focus is on good company and a good time. Boat is a perfect example of what makes Brooklyn’s bar scene so special: it’s unpretentious, welcoming, and full of character.
The overview of this bar is simple and appealing. It’s a “cool dive bar,” as one customer put it, that has managed to maintain its charm and an “old guard” feel while staying relevant in a constantly evolving neighborhood. The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and trendy all at once, creating a unique vibe that makes it a favorite among locals. Whether you're stopping in for a quick drink after work or settling in for a late-night hangout with a group of friends, Boat provides the perfect setting. The bar has a good size, so you never feel too crowded, but it's small enough to retain that intimate, neighborhood feel. The friendly and attentive bartender further enhances the experience, making every visit a pleasant one.
Beyond the atmosphere, Boat’s appeal lies in its commitment to providing great value. While many bars in the city are known for their high prices, Boat is celebrated for its "very good" and "great" prices on drinks. The beer/shot combos are a particular highlight, a classic dive bar offering that remains popular for its affordability and no-nonsense approach to a good time. The drink menu itself is solid, featuring a wide selection of alcohol, beer, cocktails, hard liquor, and wine. It’s not overly complicated, but it offers everything you need for a satisfying night out. This focus on affordability and quality drinks is a key reason why many consider it to be "among my favorite bars in BK."
In addition to the drinks, Boat distinguishes itself with its fun and engaging bar games. While many bars might just have a TV, Boat offers a more interactive experience with three pinball machines and a ping pong table. These games provide a great way for friends to socialize and have some friendly competition, adding an extra layer of entertainment to the laid-back setting. This combination of a relaxed atmosphere, great prices, and a fun array of activities makes Boat a true gem in the Brooklyn bar scene, and a testament to the enduring appeal of a classic dive bar done right.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Cool dive bar. They have some good combo specials but even without that the prices are very good. The place is a good size. They have three pinball machines and a ping pong table. The bartender was nice. It is a very laid back atmosphere. I recommend stopping in for some 🍻 and drinks if you're in the neighborhood.
June 15 · Vivianne BarrettoAmong my favorite bars in BK. One of the few old guard dives that stays open late. Great prices on beer/shot combos. (Sadly I just got charged $9 for Heineken zero while on wagon. How is that possible? I was so distraught I fell off the wagon and got an $8 beer/shot)
September 27 · KJ AStopped by here last night with a few friends. Definitely a neighborhood dive bar, $15 minimum on cards and a short menu of selections for shot/beer combos. They have a few arcade games in the front and then a pool/ping pong table in the back. Overall decent regular bar to go hang out.
