## Bombay Hut: A Taste of Homemade Indian Comfort Food in Waldwick, NJ
For over a decade, Bombay Hut has been a beloved fixture in the Waldwick community, bringing the bright, aromatic flavors of authentic Indian cuisine to Bergen County. More than a simple restaurant, Bombay Hut operates with a deep connection to its roots, led by owner Neha Garcia, whose family immigrated to the United States in 1988 and raised her right here in Waldwick. This history translates directly into the food, which focuses on providing homemade, comfort food from Northern and Central India.
The philosophy at Bombay Hut is simple but effective: use only the finest and freshest local ingredients to craft every dish, including their unique, in-house spice blends. This dedication to authenticity and quality is noticeable, particularly in dishes cooked within their traditional tandoori oven. While the setting is described as "unique, warm, and rustic," the primary focus is convenience and quality, serving the community through efficient takeout, delivery, and catering services.
While some customer experiences, particularly involving specific service interactions and order fulfillment during busy times, have varied, many patrons who appreciate the food itself highlight the flavorful curries, the excellent naan, and the overall quality of the dishes, which range from classic favorites like Chicken Tikka Masala to innovative items like Szechuan Hakka Noodles.

Bombay Hut Reviews
I never write reviews but....I ignored all the signs that I should not have ordered from Bombay Hut in Waldwick, NJ. I happened to pull into the strip mall to make a phone call and noticed the restaurant. I thought, “I haven’t had Indian in a while, let’s give it a try.”First sign: I was the only customer in the restaurant. I excused it, thinking maybe it wasn’t lunch or dinner time.Second sign: The young girl behind the counter took my order and payment while sitting down, rushing me by saying I had less than 5 minutes to order the lunch special. She told me it would be about ten minutes, so I waited outside. After fifteen minutes, I noticed a brown bag sitting on the counter. Since I was still the only customer, I asked if it was mine. She said, “You’re good to go.”Well, it wasn’t so good. Back at the office, I opened the bag to find chicken instead of the lamb I ordered. The “lunch special” that supposedly comes with a salad and bottled water had neither. And the portion? Four tiny pieces of chicken. A coworker eating chicken wings next to me actually compared his one wing to my entire “entrée” — he had more meat. And all of this cost me $18. For that price, you’d expect at least a proper portion and the order done correctly. Instead, I was left with a sad brown bag and a laughable excuse for a meal.I immediately called the restaurant, and that’s when it went from disappointing to absurd. The same young woman answered and told me she didn’t remember my order because they had “quite a few customers.” (I was literally the only customer.) When I explained I was given the wrong protein and barely any of it, her reply was that “that’s the norm” — and she seemed confused as to why I was even calling. The entire experience was insulting. From the empty restaurant, to the dismissive service, to the wrong and pitifully small meal, to the non-existent customer service — it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.Final verdict: Don’t waste your time or money at Bombay Hut. $18 should buy you a meal, not a bad joke. There are plenty of places that value their customers and serve actual portions. This is not one of them.
