★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was my first time at the Brooklyn Music Kitchen. They have a full service bar and a descent menu of appetizers. I ordered the wings & my friend ordered beer 🍺- battered shrimp 🦐 and fries. We both ordered cocktails. I ordered my favorite, which was a Tequila Sunrise, it wasn’t strong at all and I had two, I didn’t taste any alcohol, but that was cool with me since I was the designated driver. I didn’t even feel a buzz, otherwise my son would have driven me home. Anyway we were there for a performance, which was also reasonably priced. The place is small but cute (kind of narrow), however that’s expected in NYC. Overall I had a great time and didn’t spend a lot of money.
August 28 · Cheryl WilliamsI spent a few weeks at this place while my friends were performing. I paid $15 for entry, and the total bill came to around $65.The atmosphere was really pleasant, although seating was limited, and it was nice to listen to the performers. Overall, it was great to see the performers supporting each other.I was seated at a table, but you have to go up to the bar to order food. The food itself was very simple and not really worth ordering. The drinks were average — the Cosmopolitan had too much lemon juice, and the Espresso Martini was fine. The pasta was ordinary, costing $15, and we shared a dessert for five people that felt like store-bought pastry combined with ice cream.Overall, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere, but not for the food.
August 19 · KatsiarynaFull disclosure: I traveled to Brooklyn Music Kitchen to see my friend Hannah Ray Teal and her great band play another local gig. I enjoy all the local small live music venues around New York and hoped for the best with BMK.It is a nice space that seats about 50 people or so max. Bar runs almost entirely one side of the space. The vibe here is similar to the other venues (Bitter End, Berlin, Alphaville, etc) that Hannah has played; and that is a very positive comment. Brooklyn, off the G train, instead of the Village in Manhattan, which is also welcome to this Brooklyn kinda guy....:)The sound system was fine. I was able to hear my friends (and other performers) without any issues. There is mostly tables and bar seating with a couch in the back. It's a good spot to go with a group. As others have noted, the food and drinks probably could use some more attention to detail. However, I was there for the music, the drinks were fine, bartender was very cool and friendly and friends that had some food didn't have any complaints. All in all a great experience, go and enjoy your visit & keep this venue chugging along supporting the local live music scene in Brooklyn.Visit: Monday June 17, 2024
January 19 · David Green$10 gets you into shows and open mics. Love performing here (super supportive artist community) and catching shows. Jesse, the owner, is very down to earth. House band is phenomenal. Bartender Ryan is kind.**Gets very loud. Bring ear protection**
July 27 · RichardWe love this place — great vibes, amazing house band and talent overall. The energy of the performers is inspiring and yet the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. Great food too!
