This was my first Ethiopian cuisine experience and I loved that they don't give you utensils for the full effect! The food isnt really a looker if you're not into pureed food, but the taste was delightful! Highly recommend and for any vegans or vegetarians craving some hearty food. I have gone 2 times now and they are just as good! The interaction (bread) they have is tangy and slightly sour. - jen k

What is Worth Choosing?

When considering where to dine in Brooklyn, Bunna Cafe offers a compelling and multi-layered reason to choose it over other options. The primary draw is its unique combination of authentic Ethiopian culture and a vibrant, all-vegan menu. This is not just a place to get food; it’s a place to have an experience. The communal dining style of the "Feast" platters encourages a social and interactive meal, making it ideal for groups of friends and family. The absence of traditional cutlery further enhances this hands-on, authentic feel, prompting a delightful sensory experience.

The food itself is a major reason for choosing Bunna Cafe. As a vegetarian or vegan, it can often be challenging to find a restaurant with a menu that is entirely dedicated to flavorful and diverse plant-based options. Bunna Cafe excels in this area, with critics and customers alike praising the food for being hearty, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The fact that non-vegans also "loved" their first experience here speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of the cuisine. The inclusion of live music and the authentic coffee ceremony elevate a simple dinner into a cultural event. With its cozy atmosphere, great food, and commitment to a welcoming and inclusive environment, Bunna Cafe is a standout choice that provides a healthy, engaging, and delicious escape right in the heart of Brooklyn.
