What is worth choosing Casino:
When deciding on an Italian restaurant in a city filled with options, Casino presents a unique and compelling choice. Its primary draw is the sophisticated and stylish ambiance. For diners who value a great "vibe" and an aesthetically pleasing environment, Casino delivers. The decor is intentionally chic and sets a lovely backdrop for an evening. This makes it an ideal spot for a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary dinner, where the atmosphere contributes significantly to the overall experience. The restaurant's popularity among a trendy crowd and its reputation for a cool, lively setting are major reasons to book a table here.
Beyond the decor, Casino is a destination for drinks enthusiasts. Its reputation for having a great cocktail program and an extensive wine list is well-earned. The bartenders are skilled in creating both classic and inventive drinks that perfectly complement the meal. This is a crucial factor for those who see dining as a holistic experience, where the drinks are just as important as the food. The availability of late-night food also makes it a valuable option for the late-night New York crowd. Whether you're coming from a show or simply want to extend your evening, Casino provides a quality dining solution.
However, it's important for potential visitors to manage their expectations regarding the food and service. While some reviews praise the food and service, others note that the dishes can be "unremarkable" or that the service can be inconsistent, particularly on busy nights. This transparency is key for an informed decision. For instance, a review mentions a server who was inattentive and didn't provide requested birthday candles, while a manager was noted for being helpful. This suggests that the experience may vary, but the restaurant is still dedicated to a certain standard. The high prices also mean that diners are paying for the full experience, including the atmosphere, not just the plate of food. If your priority is a stylish setting, an impressive drink menu, and a vibrant social scene, Casino is an excellent choice. It offers a distinct slice of New York's trendy dining culture that's worth experiencing at least once.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The decor at casino creates a lovely setting, and you can tell they've put effort into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the same standard. While the portions were substantial, the dishes were ultimately unremarkable and didn't offer anything particularly exciting or memorable. It felt a bit pretentious, with prices that seemed inflated for the quality of the food. This could be a decent choice for a special occasion where ambiance is a priority, but for a regular dining experience, it's not worth the cost. With so many incredible dining options in New York, this is likely a "one and done" for me. I'd prioritize trying other places before considering a second visit.
April 12 · Anne VogtI came here for my friend’s bday dinner. First, food and vibes are really really great. But we were very disappointed by service. Our server James never came to check on us and we couldn’t ask/order things on right time. We also ordered three bottles and when we finally got it we poured our own drinks as nobody came to help us. Also we called ahead to ask for candles as we were celebrating a birthday and he said okay, but he didn’t provide it. We had to ask a manager to get the candles she was very nice and helpful. I would like to come back for food but not for service.
May 29 · Clara ParkProbably more of a 3.5. Pretty restaurant, upstairs and down. Very active noise level and very close to one another tables. Cocktails were good, appetizers (eggplant faratini, radicchio salad, gulf shrimp) fine. I had the pesto pasta and it was really under seasoned. My friend had the clam pasta. We shared the pavlova for dessert and it was, again, fine. Good not great but an energetic lively vibe. Probably worth a revisit in the future.
March 03 · Meredith GoossenThe vibe was great, very beautiful interior and feels like you go back in time. The espresso martini was great, not sure if it’s worth its price though. Food was a 3.5 out of 5, can’t say I’ll be coming back for a dinner, but for a drink and atmosphere I would. If I could leave 3.5 stars I’d do that. Overall not a bad experience, however the service could be better.Updated: Don’t order the chicken dish.
April 08 · Daria DunneCute cozy interior with red accents. The front of the restaurant, known as the cafe, is a little more casual, and white tablecloth seating in the back feels elevated. Servers were nice and attentive.*if you are running more than 15 min late, they will give up your table in the back. This information was not mentioned to us when we emailed saying we were running late. After being seated at the cafe for 15 min, we were lucky to have gotten seated in the dining area as originally reserved. The food is good, nothing that I would categorize as extraordinary for the price point. Prawns were delicious, as was the papparadelle, and broccolini had a nice amount of lemon to it.
